The midweek action in the latest round of Major League Soccer matches conclude on Wednesday night when six more fixtures take place up and down America as MLS looks to catch up with the time lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We’ve seen some decent action in this midweek round of games already and with three of these games on TV and the other three available to watch on the live streams with the bookmakers, we should be in for another top night of football.

Inter Miami vs Atlanta United (01.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

Preview
The televised action begins right from the start on Wednesday evening as Orlando City and Nashville SC clash with both teams looking to continue their surprising upturn in form in recent times. The second match in front of the UK cameras comes from Florida where David Beckham’s Inter Miami side will be hoping to build on their first MLS win at the weekend when they entertain former champions Atlanta United. The TV offering concludes deep into the night on this side of the pond as the San Jose Earthquakes go up against the MLS is Back winners Portland Timbers in a very appealing looking match.
The action away from the TV cameras is all about the Western Conference on Wednesday night. The first of them sees FC Dallas looking to kick their season into life when they play host to the Colorado Rapids who had a wonderful road win at the weekend. Supporters’ Shield holders Los Angeles FC make the trip to Rio Tinto to take on Real Salt Lake with both teams looking to rebound from tame defeats last time out, while the other match sees two teams who had great wins over the weekend meeting when LA Galaxy host the champions Seattle Sounders.

This looks like being one of those trappy nights that you can get in MLS and after a few poor evenings where surprise results have gone against me I’m going to tread a little more cautiously over the course of the night. There are one or two who tempt me not least Colorado Rapids but two away games in a few days is tough at any time let alone in these stranger times. In the end I’ve decided to go with just the one which comes in the third of the TV matches.
That is the one which sees San Jose Earthquakes taking on the Portland Timbers and with the attacking talent that is on display here I can’t believe we are going to lack for goals in this one. San Jose showed at the MLS is Back tournament that they have plenty of goals in them but their wide open and expansive style leaves them open to concede, and the Portland Timbers aren’t going to need a second invitation to capitalise on that. The Timbers will be out to prove a point after their loss to Seattle on Sunday but San Jose are an underrated side who may well come out on top here. Whoever wins though I like over 3 goals in this one.
