Two matches round off the latest weekend of action in the MLS 2021 regular season on Sunday evening and although in terms of what lies ahead they are not the biggest fixtures of the week, they should both be extremely entertaining.
Both of the matches are live on the TV for us in the UK to enjoy but if you don’t have the method of watching then they can both be streamed via the live service that the bookmakers provide and with both being fairly early in the evening you don’t need to be an out and out night owl to watch them.
Where to watch
Both matches will be shown live on the Free Sports channel with the first one kicking off at 10pm UK time and the second one getting underway at 12.30am.
Austin FC vs Houston Dynamo (22.00)
Two sides whose seasons are over from a competitive standpoint meet in the opening match of the night as two of the Texan teams battle it out when Austin FC host the Houston Dynamo where only really bragging rights are at stake on the contest.
Austin FC, like most teams who come into Major League Soccer, have struggled to find their feet this season. They have had the odd high moment but in the main this has been a difficult first season in MLS but they have the chance to give their fans something here if they can pull off a decent win. Houston Dynamo have been a bit of a shambles this season but they have won three of their last eight so to their credit they haven’t completely thrown the season in. I think we’ll see a few goals in this match. Austin FC will look to entertain their excellent home crowd while Houston can have a go at local rivals. I like over 3 here.

Orlando City vs New England Revolution (00.30)
The second match of the evening comes from the Eastern Conference where the newly crowned Supporters’ Shield winners New England Revolution make the trip to Florida to take on an Orlando City side who can all but secure their playoff place with a win in this match.
I guess part of this match will be how determined New England are to win it. They would be fully justified if they let their hair down and celebrate winning the Supporters’ Shield because it is an excellent achievement but they should want to continue their intensity because sometimes when you lose that it is hard to get it back again. Orlando City don’t have any problems. I wouldn’t say that they are in sparkling form but they are playing well enough to lay down a challenge to New England but until we see just how motivated the Revs are I don’t really want to bet on this one.
