Big Matches
The two televised games both come from the Eastern Conference and are on at the same time fairly early in the evening. One of them sees an Inter Miami, who now sit bottom of the Eastern Conference after five successive defeats, hosting the leaders New England Revolution who got their campaign back on track at the weekend. The other TV game comes from BMO Field where Toronto FC will look to continue their recent revival when they take on the New York Red Bulls who are going along ok themselves at the minute.
Best of the Rest
All eyes will be on Ohio where Atlanta United begin life without Gabriel Heinze when they travel to take on FC Cincinnati who have been in decent touch recently. The champions Columbus Crew are also in action when they take on Nashville SC while CF Montreal will look to continue their good recent run when they go up against New York City FC. Over in the Western Conference, Sporting Kansas City can go level on points with Seattle Sounders if they can pick up a win against the San Jose Earthquakes while the Colorado Rapids host bottom of the table FC Dallas. It might be that the pick of the matches comes from Providence Park where the Portland Timbers host Los Angeles FC.
Betting
New England Revolution did a turn for me on Saturday evening and I don’t see a reason to abandon them now. I took advantage of the issues that Atlanta United were having at the weekend but Inter Miami aren’t exactly squeaky clean when it comes to their own issues. They have lost their last five matches and you get the feeling something will have to give shortly. It will be interesting to see whether that is Phil Neville given he is friends with David Beckham, the co-owner.
The only thing I see Miami have going for them in this match is the fact they haven’t played for more than two weeks but they still had to travel to New York at the weekend and watch the lightning put paid to that match so it isn’t as though they’ve had their feet up. New England have looked a good side right from the outset this term and while not having their regular stopper around isn’t ideal, I do think they have enough in all the key departments to come out on top against a side who often lose their heads when they go behind.
