Big Matches
With Inter Miami having this set of matches off, FC Cincinnati finally get the chance to move to the top of the Supporters’ Shield standings when they welcome New England Revolution to TQL Stadium. A win will send the current holders to the summit of that race. Real Salt Lake will be looking to keep tabs on the leading two when they host the LA Galaxy in a really appealing match in the Western Conference while Los Angeles FC will be looking to continue their charge when they host the San Jose Earthquakes. The champions Columbus Crew take on Sporting Kansas City at Lower.com Field.
Best of the Rest
We have the latest Cascadia Cup clash at Providence Park where the Portland Timbers will look to continue their good form when they host one of their rivals in the form of Vancouver Whitecaps. Two sides who were having good seasons but are without a win in three since the international break are New York Red Bulls and Minnesota United. They’ll be looking to get back to form when they host Toronto FC and Austin FC respectively. Colorado Rapids are the opposite to that. They have come alive and turned their form around since the international window and they will look for a third straight win when they go up against CF Montreal. Atlanta United will look for successive wins when they make the trip to St Louis City SC.
Betting
There are a few home sides I wanted to get on over the course of the night but they are a little shorter than I would have liked in a third match in a week so I’ll go with just the one bet which comes in the form of the champions Columbus Crew against Sporting Kansas City, a contest which could very easily turn into something of a goal fest. This is actually the first home game for Columbus in the better part of six weeks so they’ll be eager to deliver the goods.
Sporting Kansas City matches have gotten crazy very quickly in recent times. Their last seven matches have finished 2-3 1-2 1-2 1-3, 2-1 2-4 and 3-4 and in total now their fans have seen 71 goals in the 19 matches that they have played. They now face arguably the most dynamic attack in MLS with a bit of a point to prove after their midweek loss but Columbus can be got at. They have only kept once clean sheet in their last six and only two in seven at home this season. I struggle to see how this one doesn’t have over 3.25 goals.
