NFL 2020 – Week 10 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

As ever the majority of the NFL matches on a week are played in the two early slots on the Sunday and that is the case this weekend when 11 of the Week 10 fixtures are played out in two evenly matched kick off times.

You will know the drill on these Sunday’s by now. Two of the matches are live on Sky for those of us in the UK while the other eight will be available at bookmaker streams. Highlights of each game come in the form of RedZone.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

There are only five matches in the early block on Sunday this week because CBS can’t cover a game until the second slot as they are showing the final round of The Masters. The televised action in this slot comes from the NFC South where the Carolina Panthers will look to put another spanner in the works of Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after their heavy loss to the New Orleans Saints last week saw them playing catch up in the division.

That leaves four other games to begin with and one of those is a divisional clash as the New York Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles at the MetLife Stadium. Elsewhere the 6-2 Green Bay Packers will be looking for another Lambeau win when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars while two sides with losing records meet when the Detroit Lions take on the Washington Football Team. The other match sees the Cleveland Browns hosting a Houston Texans team who have been very disappointing so far this season.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

That means we also have an extended six matches in the later slot on Sunday which is not something that appeals to most as they like this slot to have the pick of the early games in it and be left to focus on that on its own. That might be the case here in terms of the televised game in the UK which sees the Arizona Cardinals going up against the Buffalo Bills, in a clash between two teams with winning records – one of only two such matches in the early games on Sunday.

There are three divisional clashes in this set of games as well. In the AFC North the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field while over in the AFC West it is the Las Vegas Raiders and the Denver Broncos who battle it out while the Los Angeles Rams take on their NFC West rivals Seattle Seahawks. That leaves two other matches and they see two young quarterbacks colliding as the Miami Dolphins host the Los Angeles Chargers and the New Orleans Saints go up against a bashed up San Francisci 49ers side.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the day on Sunday and we actually have to wait until the second set of matches for them to come along. The first of them is on the TV match in that slot as the Arizona Cardinals take on the Buffalo Bills in a match I fail to see how it won’t be high scoring. We’ve seen a fair bit of the Cardinals recently and on each occasion their offense has looked a million dollars but their defence has been easily exposed. The Bills aren’t quite as lax on defence but are capable of keeping up with the offensive juggernaut of the Arizona side so this should be yet another shootout involving Arizona. Buffalo aren’t going to be as strong on defence with elite cornerback Josh Norman missing out through Covid. That strengthens the chance of a shootout and so I like over 56.5 points in this one.

The other bet I like is for the Las Vegas Raiders to cover 3.5 points when they welcome the Denver Broncos to Nevada. The Broncos continue to look a bang average outfit to me and although they arrive with a 3-5 record none of those wins look particularly convincing. The Raiders are having a good campaign under Jon Gruden and that isn’t a surprise. They have a balanced offense which is functioning nicely and enough of a defence to get pressure on Drew Lock and force him into errors. The Broncos defence has coughed up over 100 points in the last three weeks and Las Vegas can feast on it enough to cover a 3.5 spread.
