Week three of the NFL season got underway on Thursday night but the bulk of the matches on the schedule take place on Sunday, where we have some competitive looking fixtures mixed in with some high profile ones.
This is the week where those who have made a 2-0 start will be looking to consolidate that while teams who are 1-1 or 0-2 will be under more pressure to deliver the goods and get their campaign back on track.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
We have a televised match in among this first kick off time which sees Josh Allen and his Buffalo Bills side hosting the Los Angeles Rams in what should be a match which gives us an indication of what to expect from the two sides this season. With no divisional matches on show in these games the next high profile battle sees the New England Patriots hosting the Las Vegas Raiders in a clash of two of the best coaches the sport has seen in recent times.
The other matches sees Atlanta Falcons looking to bounce back from that agonising defeat last week when they host the Chicago Bears who are under the radar despite their 2-0 record. Cleveland Browns are coming into this match off the long week and they host the Washington Football Team with the Minnesota Vikings hosting the undefeated Tennessee Titans in another match. Injury hit sides meet at MetLife Stadium when the New York Giants host the San Francisco 49ers. The other two matches see the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Houston Texans.
4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
There are five matches in the later kick off slot this week with the televised match seeing two of the fancied sides in the NFC going at it when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Dallas Cowboys. Once again there are no signs of a divisional match among these games so the remaining fixtures in this slot see the Indianapolis Colts taking on the New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers meeting the Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals facing the Detroit Lions and the Denver Broncos welcoming Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers outfit.

Betting
I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the earlier Sunday matches. The first one sees the Tennessee Titans covering a 2.5 point handicap when they go to the Minnesota Vikings. I’ve made it pretty clear that I like the Titans this season and there is nothing to suggest they won’t go well in Minnesota and if they get the lead they are perfectly campaign of closing the clock down which will be important. Minnesota are already under pressure to deliver the goods here after a poor start but their defence isn’t functioning which is exposing their offense. I’ll take the more confident Titans to win well there.
Los Angeles Chargers might have inadvertently come across the star they drafted at quarterback in Justin Herbert but I think he can lead them to a pretty comfortable win over the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are going to be hurt a lot more by the injury to Christian McCaffrey than the Bolts will to the Taylor injury no matter how strange a circumstance that came about. Herbert looked very solid last week and having had the whole week to prepare for this start rather than a matter of hours I expect him to show us even more here. He could well have a day out as well because the Panthers have no pass rush at all it seems and if he can keep piling the pressure on and balance it with a very good run game the Chargers can cover 6.5pts.
