NFL 2022 – Week 15 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

We have already had four good matches in the NFL 2022 Week 15 and another 10 take place in the usual two early slots on Sunday as the regular season continues to head towards a thrilling finish over the next few weeks.

Even though we got three Saturday matches to enjoy on our screens we have another two from these early games while the Red Zone coverage will also be available and these games will be on offer with various bookmakers too.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The first of the televised matches for us on this side of the pond sees two unlikely playoff chasing sides in action when the New York Jets welcome the Detroit Lions. Both sides are trending in the right direction but losing this one will be a serious dent to their postseason hopes so this should be a competitive contest. There are five other matches taking place in this slot and one of those is a divisional clash. That sees the New Orleans Saints hosting the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.

That leaves is with four other matches to open up the action with and they will be headlined by the best team in the league so far as the Philadelphia Eagles make the trip to the Chicago Bears while the Dallas Cowboys will be hoping for a slip up which they can take advantage of when they head to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Kansas City Chiefs head to the Houston Texans knowing that a win will give them the AFC title while in the other match the Carolina Panthers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

Two teams who have been to the Super Bowl in the last two seasons collide in the TV game in the second slot on Sunday. Tampa Bay Buccaneers won on their trip to the big dance and they play on home soil against the side who lost out to the Los Angeles Rams last season in the Cincinnati Bengals. The Buccaneers are in control of their division already but should the Bengals win here they will seize control of the AFC North so this is a big match for the visitors.

Three other matches take place in the late slot and the race for the wildcard spots in the AFC will be in the spotlight. One of the teams chasing a spot is the Los Angeles Chargers and they welcome the Tennessee Titans to SoFi Stadium with the Titans looking to bounce back from last week and stay on track for the AFC South title. The New England Patriots are in control of the final playoff spot and they’ll look to stay on track for it when they face the Las Vegas Raiders while the other match sees the Denver Broncos and the Arizona Cardinals playing out time with their backup quarterbacks.

Betting

In a few weeks we will hear the old adage about defences winning championships get trotted out seemingly at will but that moniker doesn’t just apply to the postseason, it can apply when trying to get to that stage so that makes me think that the New York Jets can get the better of the Detroit Lions in what is the match of the day which nobody would have thought would be the case a few weeks ago. Detroit head to New York in brilliant form but away in a cold New York with snow around is a different proposition.

The negative for the Jets is that Zach Wilson will be back leading the offense a couple of weeks after seemingly being discarded as the starting quarterback but we’ve seen at San Francisco that things like that can fuel the fire of the wronged man and it wouldn’t be the first time a player with a point to prove does so on a big stage. Even if Wilson isn’t up to the mark this Jets defence is elite and can more than keep them in the game. Detroit have won five of their last six but the only teams they beat with winning records were the New York Giants who have won one of their last six and the Minnesota Vikings who as we saw on Saturday were trying to undo their good work this season. The Jets have lost three of their last four but they’ve all been on the road. Only Baltimore, Cincinnati and New England have left MetLife with a win over the Jets and while the Lions are having a good season I’m not sure they’re at that level.
