NFL 2022 – Week 5 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

When the action concludes in London, the remainder of the NFL 2022 interest returns back home for the remainder of the early games on Sunday in Week 5 of the campaign, one where teams will continue to enhance their records.

Even though there is a TV game in London earlier in the day we still have two more to enjoy over the course of the evening from these matches. There is also the Red Zone coverage as well as bookmakers streaming a number of games.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The TV game in the first of the two American kick off slots comes from the AFC East where the Miami Dolphins make the trip to the New York Jets looking to build on their 3-1 record. They will be without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa though which will make things interesting. Elsewhere, three other matches in this first sot are divisional battles. One of them comes from the NFC North where the Minnesota Vikings host the Chicago Bears while the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Houston Texans. The other divisional clash sees the Tampa Bay Buccaneers going up against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.

There are five other matches in this kick off slot with the Buffalo Bills looking to take advantage of any potential Miami slip up when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers are both 2-2 for the year and one of them will go 3-2 when they meet while the other three matches sees the New England Patriots hosting the Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints taking on the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Capitals facing the Tennessee Titans.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

That leaves us with three other matches in the later slot of games with the TV match coming from the home of the champions as the Los Angeles Rams look to make up for a very tame defeat to the San Francisco 49ers when they play host to a Dallas Cowboys who are continuing to defy the absence of their starting quarterback Dak Prescott. This is a match which will see two defensive studs meeting when the stars of Aaron Donald and Micah Parsons collide.

Two other matches take place in this set of games with the earlier of the two to kick off doing so in Charlotte where the Carolina Panthers will go in search of a home win when they host the San Francisco 49ers. The other match sees the unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles going to where they hope they will be competing in the Super Bowl come the end of the season to take on an Arizona Cardinals who are slowly beginning to pick up some traction.

Betting

The Seattle Seahawks head to New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon and I suspect the 5.5pt start they are in receipt of could be a few points too many. New Orleans have lost their last three matches and have an offense which has really struggled in the early part of the season. The jury is well and truly out on whether Jameis Winston is good enough to start at quarterback at NFL level and he is set to miss this match anyway.

Worse still for the Saints, Michael Thomas is likely to miss out as well and you never truly know the status of Alvin Kamara these days. New Orleans were meant to be all about their defence this season but it hasn’t really lived up to the hype thus far and a team with a couple of top drawer receivers, a running game that is improving all the time and who have just put up 48 points isn’t likely to help the Saints defence any. It might be that New Orleans edge out Seattle but I’m not convinced they win by six or more, particularly after the travelling to London and back in the last week or so.
