Week 9 of the NFL season concludes at CenturyLink Field in Seattle on Monday night when the Seattle Seahawks host the Buffalo Bills in the closer. Both these sides have had their high points this season and both have had their struggles but one thing we look sure of is a really physical game of football.
Seattle Seahawks
It is usually around now that we expect the Seahawks to catch fire and really power home their regular season campaign. It has been knock that they have had to play catch up in the division from this position but despite only being 4-2-1 for the season they actually lead the way in the West which is one positive.
The Seahawks go into this match off the back of a game where their defence was overpowered and overrun and this proud unit will be out to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Generally though their defence has been fine this season. It has been their offense which has given them the most issues with Russell Wilson now having gone three weeks without a touchdown pass.
Buffalo Bills
I guess you only need to look at the Bills’ two matches against the New England Patriots to highlight their inconsistency over the course of this season but if we look at the fact they have scored at least 25pts or more in each of their last four matches we shouldn’t ignore the danger that they possess and if they can establish their offense here they will have every chance.
Defensively the Bills have a few issues but at the same time they have run into a couple of freak performances in recent times. Tom Brady was rampant against them last week and the week before that Jay Ajayi just wasn’t for stopping so we perhaps shouldn’t write off the Bills just yet.
Betting
This has a feel of a low scoring, tough match about it to me. Seattle’s offense isn’t really firing at all at the minute while the Bills’ offense is depleted to the extent they have had to bring Percy Harvin out of retirement to make up some of the numbers.
We know the Seattle defence is going well. The last time they were on our screens in Primetime they tied with Arizona in a match which failed to yield a touchdown and while I expect to see some scores in this game I’m not sure we’ll get enough to take the total score beyond 44pts given the issues both have offensively.
