PDC World Darts Championship 2025 – Day 10 Evening Session Tips and Betting Preview

The evening session at the PDC World Darts Championship on Friday will see three more players secure their spots in the last 16 of the tournament at Alexandra Palace as no fewer than three world champions take to the stage.

Luke Humphries headlines the session as he continues the defence of his title but former champions and potential winners are all over the place on what looks to be a wonderful session of darts that awaits us.

Gerwyn Price vs Joe Cullen

The opening match of the night promises to be a belter of a contest as the former world champion Gerwyn Price looks to make it back into the last 16 when he goes up against a possibly rejuvenated Joe Cullen, who clearly has a point to prove.

Both of these men went into the tournament with a cloud over their form. Price was more an internal motivation issue whereas Cullen was a poor run of results but both men looked a lot better in the previous round and if they play like they can we could get an absolute classic here. I’m wary of the one swallow doesn’t make a summer line here though so I would want to see both men back up what they have done to date before I completely trust them. I am hoping that Price does that because I am on him to win the tournament and the way this third quarter has opened right up I’m liking my bet more and more so I’ll hope he can make progress and take a watching brief aside from that.

Jermaine Wattimena vs Peter Wright

The middle match of the evening sees the European Championship finalist Jermaine Wattimena looking to make it through to the fourth round for the first time in his career when he goes up against the twice winner of the event in Wright.

If you was using experience as your guide you would be all over Wright in this match while current form would lead you strongly to Wattimena and it will be interesting to see which way this one transpires. We have recent form between these two though because they met in the opening round of the European Championship a couple of months ago and Wattimena won that 6-0. Wright averaged a pathetic 74.81 in that match though and it is hard to believe he will be that bad again here. Whether he can raise it to the 98 average that Wattimena showed in taking care of James Wade in the previous round is more the question though. I hope Wright shows us something close to his best because it would contribute to a great night of darts. If Wright is close to what he can do then he is a massive price here but it is a gamble I’m not ready to take. I think Wattimena will win but the fact he has never been past this round puts me off getting involved in a handicap which I’d need to take if I wanted any kind of proper price.

Luke Humphries vs Nick Kenny

The final match of the night will see the defending champion Luke Humphries looking to make it through to the last 16 in his title defence when he goes up against the Welsh star Nick Kenny who will be able to celebrate retaining his tour card in this match.

Kenny has been playing with the pressure of maintaining his professional status so far in this tournament and has come through the two matches he needed to win very well and now he can just relax and let his arm go and see if he can cause the ultimate upset. Humphries starts as a massive favourite in this match but he won’t need reminding that he went 3-1 down to Ricardo Pietreczko in this round a year ago and while he came through he won’t want to get into that position again. Humphries was no better than ordinary by his standards in the first round even though he didn’t drop a leg but he’ll need to go through the gears as we go along if he is going to retain his crown and here is a chance to put a bit of a marker down. I expect Humphries to win this and if he is on it he’ll win it well but rather than back him to win 4-0 or cover handicaps and things like that the bet that interests me is the 12/5 on the champion hitting a 180 in each set. He is a heavy scorer and his scoring gets better the longer a match goes on so if he hits one in the first set the rest should take care of itself, especially if he wins this 4-0. This price is too big for a man who hit 73 180s in this tournament a year ago.

Tips

Back L.Humphries to hit a 180 in each set for a 3/10 stake at 3.40 with Bet365
