The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday afternoon when another five fixtures take place up and down the country and with midweek matches to follow on from these all 10 sides in action will be keen to start a busy period in style.
Although there aren’t many matches to get stuck into we do have a couple of TV matches to enjoy on a day where there are a number of sides who are heavy favourites to win. The other matches have the usual ways of being followed.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)
Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (12.30pm – BT Sport 1)
Arsenal vs Southampton
Chelsea vs Leeds United
Liverpool vs Aston Villa
Norwich City vs Manchester United (5.30pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The action begins at the home of the champions where Manchester City look to move four points clear at the top of the table for a few hours when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Etihad Stadium. Wolves ran Liverpool close last week and will be looking to emulate that against City. The other TV match sees the other half of Manchester in action when Ralf Rangnick and his Manchester United side travel to Norfolk to take on Norwich City assuming the match goes ahead as the home side have a few Covid-19 issues.
Three matches full the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday afternoon with two of the top three all in action. Liverpool begin the afternoon second in the table and their fans will welcome a hero back to Anfield when Steven Gerrard takes his Aston Villa side back to his old stomping ground for a high profile clash. Chelsea sit third in the table and they host Leeds United in a match they’ll be keen to win. The other game sees Arsenal looking to bounce back from that late Monday night disappointment when they host Southampton.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the day and that comes in the match at Stamford Bridge where I expect Chelsea to do a bit of a job on an injury hit Leeds United side. Leeds have a very thin squad at the best of times and they can’t cope with significant injuries either in terms of number or key personnel. With the latter fact in mind the last thing they need is for Kallum Phillips and Liam Cooper to be missing.
They could ill afford to have those against the weaker sides in the league but here they go away to one of the best teams in it and not only one of the better sides but a team who will be smarting from their defeat to West Ham last week. The Whites could face something of a backlash from the Blues in this one. I’d have expected Chelsea to win this one if Leeds were at full strength but given they are not I think this could be a long afternoon at the office for the Yorkshire outfit.
