Two matches take place prior to the international break in the Premier League on Sunday on a day where the race for the top four is once again in focus as four sides continue their campaign in an ever intriguing top flight.
Surprisingly for a Sunday only one of the two matches are live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy but there are plenty of other ways of keeping up to date with everything else that is going on throughout the afternoon. Even though it is the later kick off we’ll begin with the TV game.
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The televised action is the one which focuses on the race for Champions League football next term when bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United collide in North London for three extremely valuable points.
These two sides watched on as Arsenal picked up a win on Saturday afternoon which has them six points clear of these two so this is a match neither can afford to lose if they harbour hopes of making the top four. Given the rivalry between these two it isn’t a match they would be eager to lose anyway so we should be in for a fiercely competitive match. You have to think that Tottenham will win this match given the exertions West Ham put in when overcoming Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday night but I’m still not in a position where I trust the Tottenham defence, especially with the international break ahead which means the Hammers could be prepared to give their all one last time. Recent meetings between these two teams have had goals in them and with both sides frail defensively but with a number of attacking options I like over 2.5 goals here.

Leicester City vs Brentford (14.00)
The match away from the TV cameras comes from the King Power Stadium where Leicester City welcome Brentford for the first Premier League meeting between the two sides at this venue, with both looking for points which will ease whoever gets them a little further up the table.
In essence, this is largely a dead rubber although the Bees probably still need a couple of wins to be sure of playing top flight football next term. You would imagine that over the course of their final nine matches they will find those so the visitors don’t really have a lot to lose here. I don’t know if and when Leicester will focus on the European competition which they must now have every chance of winning but I wouldn’t blame them if after a big effort to maintain their progression in that, they have little left to give in this one. The odds are tempting on Brentford here but I think the better and more secure bet lies in the TV game.
