The Premier League weekend comes to a close on Sunday afternoon when the two remaining matches take place on what most certainly looks like being a pivotal day at both ends of the top flight table.
As this is a Sunday both of the matches are live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy and with what is at stake over the course of the day we should be in for some quality and dramatic action to keep us entertained.
Nottingham Forest vs Leeds United (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The opening match of a tasty looking Sunday afternoon will focus on events at the bottom end of the table where Nottingham Forest and Leeds United face off at the City Ground with each aiming to keep their heads above water in the bid to beat the drop.
Forest have picked up the longer the season has gone on but they have an extensive injury list to deal with as well as the disappointment of diving out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage in midweek. It helps that they have about 5,000 players to choose from but continuity might be lacking a little here. You could probably say the same about Leeds though. They will be looking to integrate new signings into their XI and they also have a couple of significant injuries as well. Despite the absentees, I see this as a match both will think they can win and that should lead to an open game of football where the chances to score goals should flow regularly. I think both of these teams struggle in the full-back area and both are very strong on the wing when attacking so chances should flow regularly. I like the over even though we are relying on poor finishers to get the job done for us. Over 2.5 goals is just under evens on the Asian lines and that is a little too high in a match I expect to be wide open and full of chances.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The second match of the day is certainly the biggest one as far as the top end of the table is concerned as Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City for the second time in as many months in a key clash in the title race.
When these two met at the Etihad Stadium last month, Tottenham moved into a 2-0 half time lead but City powered back to win 4-2 and all neutrals watching this match will hope for something similar. Tottenham, for all the doom and gloom around them at present, could move to within a point of the top four with a win here, while City could move to within two points of leaders Arsenal should they come out on top so these two certainly don’t lack for motivation. Both have question marks over them though. Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is expected to miss the game after an operation in the week while City don’t really look themselves at the minute. If pushed I’d still back City to win but the John Stones injury isn’t one which inspires me to supporting them but I don’t fancy taking Haaland and co on. I’ll watch and hope this is a good spectacle without the need of a betting influence.
