Premier League 2022-23 – Wednesday 26th April Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The biggest night of the Premier League season takes place on Wednesday evening when the top two meet in the match which might well determine the destiny of the title. That is one of four matches taking place up and down the country.

All four matches will be live on TV for us in the UK to sit back and enjoy, although you are going to need to have more than one device available to watch all of them as they all overlap. Nevertheless, there is a chance to follow any bets.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Nottingham Forest v Brighton & Hove Albion (7.30pm – BT Sport 4)

Chelsea v Brentford (BT Sport 3)

West Ham United v Liverpool (BT Sport 2)

Manchester City v Arsenal (8pm – BT Sport 1)

The eyes of the world will be on the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening to see if what many people are now suggesting will be a formality that Manchester City wins the title goes a little closer to ringing true. They host an Arsenal side for whom the general consensus is this is a match they simply have to win if they are to have any chance of going on and winning the title. These two are the best in the league by a distance and we could get served up an absolute classic.

There is a big game at the other end of the table where Nottingham Forest will look to give their survival chances a boost when they go up against a Brighton and Hove Albion team who will be looking to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat at the weekend. The other two matches come from London where West Ham United will look to continue a good mini-run of form when they host Liverpool while Chelsea take on Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

Betting

Two out of form teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening but I suspect Brentford can have their form attributed to a tougher schedule than they might have wanted. Even in a run of six without a win they have been to Brighton and got a draw and held Aston Villa at the weekend. You can’t say the same about Chelsea and the only thing you can give them from a positive point of view heading into this match is that having not played at the weekend they might be the fresher team.

Chelsea have been in trouble for much of the season and it seems that every day that passes they have another injury issue to contend with. This is one of those matches Brentford are in the Premier League for, to challenge themselves against a supposed big boy and bloody their noses a little bit. That happened in the corresponding fixture last season when the Bees rocked up and won 4-1. I don’t expect them to win this one by that score but the derby nature of it should tune them in if their form is down to them being on the beach and with us able to get Brentford with a 0.75 advantage on the Asian handicap lines I like the visitors here.
