The Premier League weekend continues with a big Saturday of action at the top end of the table with a number of teams who are in the top half on show on a day which could be key for the season of so many sides.
It is a normal Saturday for us in that we have two TV matches in the UK which come at the start and the end of the day and then the other matches which are all at the usual time will have updates in the normal places.
Early Kick Off
The action begins at the King Power Stadium where Leicester City look to give their survival hopes a shot in the arm when they entertain title chasers Arsenal. The Gunners will have been buoyed by seeing Liverpool concede a late equaliser in midweek and can move to within four points of the Reds at the top with a win here. If Leicester can pull off the upset here then they will come out of the bottom three for 24 hours at least so there is plenty on things at what is likely to be a lively King Power to get the day up and running.
3pm Matches
We have five matches taking place in the traditional 3pm slot on Saturday afternoon with Nottingham Forest the team placed highest on show. The third placed side make the trip to the capital to take on a Fulham side who are very up and down at the minute. The pick of the matches in this slot probably comes from the Etihad Stadium where the champions Manchester City host a buoyant Newcastle United who go into the game off the back of successive cup wins.
AFC Bournemouth are on the fringes of the major European spots and they will make the short trip to St Mary’s Stadium for the Solent derby against rock bottom Southampton. Aston Villa will be looking to push on and achieve European football next season and they are at home on Saturday against an Ipswich Town side who probably have to push the boat out even more as they go in search of wins which could keep them in the division. The other match is the one London derby on the day which comes from the London Stadium where West Ham United host Brentford.

Late Game
We also finish the day in the capital as the late game comes from Selhurst Park where Crystal Palace will look to continue their good form when they host an Everton side who are probably going to need to deal with a comedown or hangover from the Merseyside derby and the incredible scenes at the end of that match. Palace have no such problems and will fancy their chances at home but Everton are a much improved side under David Moyes and certainly won’t lack for confidence but fatigue could be a factor.
Betting
A popular bet of mine whenever Aston Villa are at home is to take both teams to score and over 2.5 goals and I don’t see any reason not to take it when they host an Ipswich Town side who really have to look to make something happen if they are going to get out of the mess they have created for themselves. The good thing for the Tractor Boys is that they come here buoyed by an emphatic win in the cup last week where their attacking depth showed their worth and gives them more options throughout the 90 minutes here.
Aston Villa have plenty of goals in them, especially if Ollie Watkins is back, but even if he isn’t then there is still the likes of Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio, Donyell Malen, Morgan Rogers, Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey. Villa have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight in the Premier League at Villa Park and that was to goal shy Southampton. Ipswich have scored in eight of their 11 away games this season and Villa have a real issue of a shortage of defenders with Axel Disasi likely to make his debut but you got the impression that signing was rushed as a stop gap. I fancy both teams to score and then another goal on top. This punt landed at Portman Road in the reverse meeting and can land again here.
