The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday with five more matches as the early table begins to game some context. It is a day when the leaders heading into the weekend are on show in the form of Man City while those at the bottom will be eager to pick up points too.
There is no early game on Saturday so we are treated to four traditional 3pm matches and then the late game in the now usual 5.30pm kick off slot.
3pm Matches
Surprisingly this is where Man City are involved. It is rare that the leaders play at this time these days but they do here and they entertain Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. Hull City welcome Arsenal to the KC Stadium while West Ham head to the midlands to face West Brom and Burnley travel to the champions Leicester.
Late Game
Everton are back on our screens in the late game when they host Middlesbrough at Goodison Park. If Man City and Chelsea have failed to win before them the Toffees will be eyeing up top spot with a win here while Middlesbrough will be looking to get back on track after their defeat last week.
Betting
Two bets interest me this week but as it is a small card I’ll quickly run through the ones that don’t. Leicester vs Burnley just has the look of a tight game about it but I remember thinking that a couple of times last year and suddenly the champions burst into life and made my prediction look a little silly so I’m happy to leave that one alone.
I would expect Man City to beat Bournemouth but with the hassle of moving their game in midweek and then playing it coupled with the absence of Sergio Aguero I don’t really feel comfortable taking on them a large handicap while West Ham are so up and down at the minute it is pure madness betting on their matches currently.
The first bet I like is both teams to score in the Hull vs Arsenal match. Arsenal have looked open in defence all season so far to the point where Southampton should have had lots more than the one goal that they got and we’ve seen that Hull can open sides up and are never out of the match. As strong as Hull can be defensively I don’t see them stopping this Arsenal attacking core from scoring so I’m liking both to score there.
The second bet is on an Everton side who don’t have the greatest record at Goodison Park in recent times but that could be about to change. They host Middlesbrough who are what I call a solid side who will beat you if you let them but who lack the invention to open sides up especially on the road. Their best shot in this one could be set-pieces but Everton have enough solidity about them and more than enough attacking threat to win this match and potentially win it with a bit in hand.
