The Premier League returns from the international break on Saturday and it does so with some big matches and some potentially excellent action on a day which looks to have big implications at the top and the bottom of the table.
As with most busy Saturday’s we have three kick off times here on what is another lengthy day of top flight action in England.
Early Kick Off
The first game of the day will have the eyes of Liverpool on it as the two sides of Merseyside meet at Anfield when Liverpool host Everton in the final Merseyside Derby of the season. Liverpool edged out Everton late on in the reverse meeting and need to win here to keep Champions League football next season in their own hands. Everton don’t appear to be playing for much which might help them.
3pm Matches
Tottenham will be looking to keep up some sort of a chase on the leaders Chelsea when they head to Turf Moor to take on Burnley while Chelsea will look to repel the chasers when they host form side Crystal Palace at the Bridge.
Hull City have a must win match at home to West Ham while all eyes will be on Leicester to see if they can keep up their good form when they entertain Stoke. West Brom head to injury plagued Man Utd and Sunderland also must win when they travel to Watford.
Late Game
The day begins and ends with a derby as the South coast derby concludes the action on Saturday when Southampton host Bournemouth in a match both sides will think they can win. Both sides are safely in mid-table so bragging rights is all they have to play for here.
Betting
I like two bets in the Premier League on Saturday and they both come in the 3pm matches. Usually I’m all over Burnley when they are at home but they’ve had some internationals away this time so this might be the time to keep them at arm’s length.
Instead I’m going to look elsewhere and the first place to go is the KC Stadium where Hull City can get a valuable three points when they play host to a West Ham side who have started conceding all kinds of goals at the minute. Hull have had their troubles on the road but they have been very solid on their own patch recently. They are undefeated in five at home which is pretty good going. West Ham go into the match without a win in five and have shipped twice or more in four of those games so Hull look to have a good chance to me.
Leicester have found form since the shameful sacking of Claudio Ranieri and I’m backing them to come past a Stoke side who never truly convince me on the road these days. Stoke might have held Man City to a goalless draw in their last road game but their only win in their last eight away games came at Sunderland which isn’t much of a form guide. Leicester have won every game under Craig Shakespeare and they have every chance of winning this too.
