The final round of Premier League matches prior to the next international break continues on Saturday when five more matches in the top flight take place with one of them in front of the live cameras in the UK.
With a couple of sides involved in the Europa League on Thursday and a couple of other matches earmarked for TV on Sunday it is a fairly low key set of games on Saturday but big sides like Liverpool and Chelsea are in action and all eyes will be on them.
Early Kick Off
There is an early kick off despite the shortage of matches and it comes from the Liberty Stadium where Liverpool are the visitors to a Swansea side who haven’t won since the opening day of the season and who are beginning to come under a great deal of pressure with few sides below them in the table.
3pm Matches
There are four matches at 3pm with Hull City hosting Chelsea in the pick of them while bottom of the table Sunderland will go in search of their first win of the season when they host West Brom at the Stadium of Light. The other two matches involve Watford playing host to Bournemouth and West Ham welcoming Middlesbrough to the Olympic Stadium.
Betting
I’m going with one bet from these five matches although I came close to pulling the trigger on another. The one I’m tentatively not backing is both teams to score in the Hull vs Chelsea match. I like it but Chelsea might go really tight after being opened up at will last week so I’ve just about convinced myself to leave it.
The bet I am taking is the same market but in the West Ham vs Middlesbrough game. West Ham have shown us all season that they are struggling massively defensively. That is down to injuries and nothing is about to change on that regard so at some point they are going to have to stop trying and go down the Kevin Keegan ‘we’ll score one more than you’ approach.
It could be that this is the time for that. People are getting restless in London and something has to give so I’m expecting an open game between these two and while Middlesbrough aren’t the best going forward the chances are they’ll get a gift somewhere along the line while West Ham’s final third quality can count so both teams to score looks good to me.
