The Sky Bet Championship season continues on Tuesday evening when two of the many games to be rearranged in the division take place on a night where four sides will be looking to enhance their position in the bunched up centre of the table.
On the face of it, and as far as the odds compilers suggest, the two matches should be quite competitive so it is a bit of a pain that there is no TV coverage of either of them. There are the usual updates in the normal places.
Millwall vs Preston North End (19.45)
One of the two matches on Tuesday evening comes from the capital where Millwall host Preston North End in a battle of two sides who are currently in the bottom half of the table but who will be eyeing up the result which will elevate them into the top half.
Consistency has been a real issue for both these teams. Millwall ended a run of three defeats on Saturday when they took care of West Brom but the Baggies are looking worse and worse by the week. Preston have the potential to finish the season strongly with a couple of shrewd additions and a playing style which is evolving the right way under Ryan Lowe. I sense there might be a revival in Millwall now they have managed to keep hold of Jed Wallace but I’m in no rush to back them so I’ll give this one a swerve.

Swansea City vs Luton Town (19.45)
The match I am going to is the other match on the night where Swansea City play host to Luton Town in the reverse meeting of one of the more entertaining matches of the season so far which saw the two sides draw 3-3 back at Kenilworth Road in September.
If you had said to most neutrals going into the season that one team would move three points off the playoffs with a win here and the other starts the night in the bottom seven you would probably have got them the wrong way round such is the wonderful campaign Luton are putting together and how Swansea are flattering to deceive. I actually think Luton might be a decent price with draw cover here. Only Preston in the bottom half have beaten Luton on their travels this season. Three of their other four defeats were to teams in the top six and the other was to Sheffield United recently and the Blades are in decent form right now anyway.
Things aren’t going as well for Swansea who have won just one of their last seven in the league, which includes defeats to lowly Hull City and Reading ,and they have scored just five goals in that time. Luton as a rule don’t give up a lot of chances and Swansea, according to xG at least, aren’t frequent in creating huge ones. Based on xG, Luton should actually be fifth in the league this season whereas Swansea are where they should be in 18th. Swansea probably should have beaten Hull on Saturday based on xG but don’t seem to be able to convert their chances. Luton are undefeated in midweek this season and Nathan Jones has recently placed a lot of emphasis on their matches in hand of teams around them, of which this is one. His side might be able to take advantage of the hosts lack of a ruthless streak in front of goal to get a result here.
