A six match Sky Bet Championship card has been reduced to five on Tuesday evening as the effects of the recent storms have an impact on the competition, however it is a big night for many on show as we move into the final third of the campaign.
Two of the five matches are live on TV for us in the UK to watch and if you have a bet on any of the other three games then you’ll be able to watch those via the red button service so there is no need to miss out on any of the action.
Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated – UK TV in brackets)
Bristol City v Coventry City
Hull City v Barnsley
Middlesbrough v West Bromwich Albion (Sky Main Event & Sky Football)
Preston North End v Nottingham Forest (Sky Sports Arena)
Reading v Birmingham City (8pm)

Preview
The televised action centres on the race for the play-offs this season with all four teams involved chasing their spot in the top six. Middlesbrough fell out of sixth spot at the weekend and they will be eager to get back into it when they host West Bromwich Albion, who have fallen away quite dramatically. Nottingham Forest saw a few teams overtake them over the weekend after their match at Bournemouth was postponed but they have the chance to push themselves further towards the top six when they host a Preston North End who haven’ t given up on extending their campaign just yet either.
Two of the matches behind the red button will be all about the bottom end of the table. Reading gave themselves a huge shot in the arm in their bid to remain in the division when they won at Preston at the weekend. They then sacked their manager so the Paul Ince era will begin with a clash against Birmingham City. Barnsley are now nine points from safety and you would think they have to get something from their trip to Hull City. The other match sees Coventry City looking to stay in the play-off race when they travel to Bristol City.
Betting
West Bromwich Albion look like they are in a real slump at the minute. That much is obvious when you consider they haven’t scored in their last five outings and while they are going to score eventually, you sense a bit of a malaise has crept in. Luton gifted them three great chances to score on Saturday and they couldn’t manage it and I’m not convinced they’ll get as much in the way of gifts from Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.
Middlesbrough suffered a surprising loss at Bristol City at the weekend so they are a team who need to respond here but in front of their own fans they have been very strong under Chris Wilder and so that should give them the confidence to respond to that loss here. West Brom haven’t just failed to score in their last five matches, they have won just one of their last 10 which was against Peterborough. In that time they have failed to beat Barnsley and Derby and goals are really hard to come by. I expect Middlesbrough to have enough to overcome the Baggies here.
