Big Matches

The televised match on Saturday comes from The Hawthorns where it was supposed to be two promotion chasers battling it out when West Bromwich Albion host Sheffield United but the Baggies certainly haven’t lived up to their billing. After a bright start to the season, Sheffield United are without a win in five matches and will be looking to get their campaign back on track. Burnley went top of the table in midweek and they’ll be looking to stay there when they play host to a Reading side who are over performing a little.

Best of the Rest

Blackburn Rovers have the chance to go top of the pile should their local rivals slip up. They will need to win at Hull City in order for that to happen. There is one other early kick off on Saturday and that comes from Ashton Gate where rivals Bristol City and Swansea City meet. Millwall are the other team in the top six and they head to bottom of the table Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. Norwich City will be looking to end a terrible run of form when Stoke City visit Carrow Road while Coventry City and Middlesbrough will be looking to pull away from the relegation zone. Coventry host Blackpool while Middlesbrough make the trip to Preston in what will be the first game in charge for Michael Carrick.

Betting

Burnley should be full of confidence when they entertain Reading at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. They went top of the table with a win over Norwich City in midweek and still haven’t lost on their own patch this season. They now face a Reading side who are either good or terrible, as their -4 goal difference suggests even though they sit in eighth place in the table. When they are good though they threaten in attack but when they are bad they concede a huge number of goals.

There are certainly no shortage of goals in this Burnley side but they are still not the best when it comes to keeping clean sheets, which is a surprise when you consider who their manager is. I don’t think Reading can go to Turf Moor and look to contain so they should be going there with some intent even if it is only on the break. They also have the aerial threat of Andy Carroll which could be key. I like over 2.5 goals in this one with the home side more than capable of covering it on their own but Reading could help them in that job.
