Six sides will be playing catch up in Skybet League 2 on Tuesday night when a small set of matches take place in the division. Although none of the sides at the very top end of the table are playing this could still be a big night with issues at the other end of the table and the playoffs in the spotlight.
Tuesday’s matches are as follows:
Accrington Stanley v Cambridge United
Colchester United v Wycombe Wanderers
Newport County v Morecambe
Preview
Newport will be aiming to move to within four points of safety when they entertain Morecambe at Rodney Parade. A good recent run has got Morecambe dreaming of the playoffs again and a win here will move them to within three points of Mansfield in seventh and they would have a game in hand of them.
Acrrington will be looking to pull away from danger when they host a Cambridge side who will be aiming to move closer to the playoffs themselves while seventh spot will be occupied by the winner of the match between Colchester and Wycombe.
Betting
There isn’t a huge amount of value doing the rounds here. I had intended to get involved in Accrington but the absence of Omar Beckles is a big issue and enough of one to put me off. Accrington had been conceding goals anyway without his absence but Cambridge’s form isn’t inspiring enough to go the other way either.
With that in mind and in light of there still being more than a quarter of the season left I will sit these matches out and attack the weekend fixtures instead.
