There are two matches in the Super League on Friday night with one of them in front of the TV cameras and the other one not. We have a couple of fairly local derbies on show on another night of top level action.
St Helens head to Warrington for the clash in front of the Sky cameras while Wigan play host to Salford in the match which doesn’t get the TV attention. We’ll begin with the TV match.

Warrington Wolves vs St Helens
Two sides nowhere near where they would like to be in the Super League table meet in the TV match on Friday night when regular foes Warrington Wolves and St Helens clash at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. They both need the points to crack on with a push for the top four so this will be extra-competitive.
Warrington haven’t been helped by international call ups for this match with Stefan Ratchford, Kevin Brown and Chris Hill all off on their travels to represent their country. Joe Westerman is out with injury and Daryl Clark could miss out too which isn’t ideal. St Helens have lost Alex Walmsley and Mark Percival to England but importantly there are returns for James Roby and Greg Richards.
Having already beaten Warrington earlier in the season I don’t think St Helens will have too many concerns heading into this match. There is no doubt that a Warrington who have been poor for much of the campaign will miss their international players and St Helens can take advantage of that.
Wigan Warriors vs Salford Red Devils
Two sides who are missing players for very different reasons meet at the DW Stadium when fifth placed Wigan Warriors host third placed Salford Red Devils with second spot potentially up for grabs for the winners.
Wigan have seemingly had injury issues all season so they could have done without the likes of Sean O’Loughlin being called up for England. Michael McIlorum is suspended while Ben Flower, Morgan Escare, George Williams, Thomas Leuluai and Anthony Gelling are all on a lengthy injury list.
Salford are missing some big players too with Justin Carney now banned for eight matches and with Mark Flanagan and Craig Kopczak recent additions to their own injury casualty list. That said Salford’s creative players are all in situ and they still have enough pep in their pack to compete. Wigan are missing all of their creativity and near enough their entire backline. Salford could be value given the expected line ups.
