In order for the preparations for the World Cup to begin in time at the end of the season there has had to be another round of matches fitted into the Super League schedule and that comes on Bank Holiday Monday when 10 of the sides are in action.
St Helens and Huddersfield meet later in the season but the other 10 teams do battle on Monday with two matches on TV. They are the latter two matches to kick off.
Monday’s fixtures are as follows: (kick off in brackets)
Warrington Wolves vs Salford Red Devils (3pm)
Widnes Vikings vs Leeds Rhinos (3pm)
Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity (3pm)
Leigh Centurions vs Castleford Tigers (4pm)
Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC (7pm)

Betting
With the quick turnaround since the last match squad and team news is going to be all important in these matches and being selective is very much the order of the day. It doesn’t feel like a day to be taking big handicaps with fatigue likely to come into play. As such I’m going with one win bet.
Warrington Wolves looked clueless at times in their defeat to the Leeds Rhinos on Friday night and I’m not convinced they can change enough in the space of 48hrs or so. Salford Red Devils have no need to change. They are in the middle of an exceptional run of form with six wins on the bounce and they have Todd Carney back for this one too. At 7/4 Salford are a huge price in this one and they’re my bet.
