There are two matches in the Super League on Saturday evening with three of the current bottom four in action on what looks like being a pivotal day at the foot of the table ahead of the split in a few weeks time.
We have one match on TV of these two which is the one from France while the other one is away from the cameras so we will be relying on other means to keep up to date with that. We’ll begin with the TV match which is the first one to kick off.

Catalans Dragons vs Leigh Centurions
Steve McNamara’s first home match in charge of the Catalans Dragons is against the team at the foot of the table in Leigh Centurions. Leigh will know if they lose this match they will be in the Middle 8s and fighting for their Super League lives.
Catalans can move to within two points of the top eight with a win here but have won just one of their last nine matches so I can’t be backing them to win let alone cover 14pts. If I was going to bet on the game I probably would chance Leigh with that start. They have gone to France early to acclimatise but they aren’t in much form either. I’m happy to sit this one out.
Wakefield Trinity vs Warrington Wolves
The only side in the top eight in action on Saturday are Wakefield Trinity. They host the team most assumed would definitely be in there in Warrington Wolves in what is a big match for the visitors.
The thought of having to play the qualifiers is becoming a reality more and more by the week and a defeat here would condemn them further in that. Wakefield are an outside bet for the top four but in the back of their minds will be that they collapsed from this position last season and having lost their last three in all competitions there are fears they could be about to repeat that.
This is one of the hardest matches to bet on in the entire season. If Warrington had shown anything at all I would chance them at odds against but even though they won last week they literally fell over the line. There is too much doubt here so I’m a no bet in this one too.
