Super League XXII – Sunday 19th March Matches Betting Preview

The latest round of Super League matches comes to an end on Sunday with two matches as the leaders Castleford and Wigan look to extend their advantage on the rest of the sides in the table when they take to the field once again. Unfortunately neither of these matches are on TV but that doesn’t stop us having a bet on them!

Salford City Reds vs Castleford Tigers

The question that is getting louder in the Super League is whether the Castleford Tigers are the real deal or not. Everything they have shown so far suggest that they are but this will be another test of their credentials.

Salford go into this match off the back of two defeats in their last three matches but they could have Todd Carney available here which would be a massive boost. They might need him though because you would think the only way Salford can win this is by scoring an insane number of points.

I say that because if Wakefield can put 24pts on this Salford outfit I dare not think what Castleford can do to it. The biggest strength for Castleford at the minute is the amount of talent knocking on the door waiting to get in. That is huge for me and I think Castleford can use that competition in their squad to continue steamrolling sides.

Wigan Warriors vs Huddersfield Giants

Two sides going in opposite directions meet at the DW Stadium when the Wigan Warriors host the Huddersfield Giants. Huddersfield head to Wigan off the back of two absolute beatings in their last two matches while Wigan’s confidence must be sky high despite all their injuries.

Despite having so many players out injured Wigan walloped Warrington last week and I’m expecting them to continue where they left off against a Huddersfield side who were nilled by Leigh last week and thrashed by Hull FC the week before.

Huddersfield are missing their entire back row for this match and that is clearly hampering them in their go forward. Wigan’s injuries have had no ill effect on them and I expect the home side to win this and win it very well.
