England went to the T20 World Cup in 2021 as the favourites to win the tournament but their death bowling let them down in the semi-final and they still have just one 20 over title to their name. They are the second favourites for the tournament this year but it might be that they are hitting form at the right time and while some teams have key injuries to contend with, England might just be getting some big players back.

Team Guide
England have been one of the best white ball teams in the world for the last four years but they haven’t been able to get their hands on this title in that time. They will be eager to put that right here, especially as it would mean winning it on enemy soil given their rivalry with Australia. At their best England look a million dollars but there is still a bit of a concern over whether their bowling can keep them out of trouble in a knockout match.
The one area where England look as strong as anyone in the competition if not stronger is with the bat. They have more batting depth than anyone else in the tournament and can’t even get the likes of Phil Salt into their side. He would walk into most teams in the competition. You sense they will always come off with the bat so the success or otherwise in this tournament will be down to their bowlers in the big game.

Betting
England have had a few issues with their bowlers in the last week or so which has thrown up all sorts of issues with them in their bowling attack and it isn’t until the competition gets underway that we will know the combinations that they are going to use for this tournament. That makes betting on the top bowler market pretty difficult, although hopefully it will give Sam Curran the opportunities to deliver for us on our outright bet.
Dawid Malan is another outright bet for us in the tournament but I still like him in the England batting market too. One reason for that is he starts off 136 and 129 runs off two players who are still in the competition from the first round. That doesn’t mean that Malan can’t top score still but clearly he is disadvantaged so much the same reasoning that I like him outright I like him for the England batting market. We’ve seen in the first round of the tournament that the technical players are the ones who are going the best and that is Malan in this England side. At 4/1 he looks a standout bet for England here.
