It is the final day of the German Darts Open on Sunday with the last 16, the quarter finals, semi-finals and the final all played out on a hectic day of darts action. Another decent first prize is up for grabs as we head to the conclusion of the third European Tour event of the season.
The majority of the big names in the tournament made it through to Sunday’s action so we are in store for a good finale to this event. As ever the time restrictions will deny us the chance to preview the evening session on Sunday but we can go through the last 16 in the afternoon.
Opening matches
The first match of the session on Sunday sees the tournament favourite and world champion Michael van Gerwen in action. He takes on Adam Hunt before one of the matches of the round as Ian White faces Mervyn King. The other two matches in the top half sees Simon Whitlock facing Rob Cross and Benito van de Pas going up against Joe Cullen.
Later Matches
The bottom half of the draw all come along in the second half of the afternoon and they begin with Peter Wright faces Cristo Reyes. Dimitri van den Bergh will then continue his good tournament when he takes on Gerwyn Price before Dave Chisnall meets Jelle Klaasen. The afternoon ends with Mensur Suljovic taking on a man he has never lost to in Stephen Bunting.

Betting
As with Saturday just the one bet interests me in this session of play and it come in the second game when Ian White takes on Mervyn King. White has a 5-1 head to head advantage over King and really most of his wins have been by large margins. King has done well to come through two matches this weekend but his back can never fully be trusted and even if he plays well I think White’s game is better right now.
Ian White is capable of ploughing into the 60 bed and I expect him to outscore King throughout this one and as long as he is solid on his doubles he should have enough to come through this at a tidy price given their past record.
