The first round of the Northern Ireland Open plays to a close on Tuesday with another busy day of snooker action in Belfast. There are a number of tables in use on Tuesday with plenty of matches being played on them across the three sessions of play.
We saw the likes of Neil Robertson, Mark Allen and the defending champion Mark King come through on Monday but then there were exits for the likes of Shaun Murphy and Kyren Wilson which will keep the big names on show on Tuesday on their toes.

Morning Session
The match on the main table in the first session of the day will see Ali Carter taking on Chen Zhe. Jack Lisowski takes on Sean O’Sullivan on the other table which will be streamed. On the outside tables Sam Baird will meet Zhang Yong, Aditya Mehta will play Li Yuan, Michael Georgiou meets David Grace with Xiao Guodong going up against Christopher Keogan. The other matches sees Zhang Anda facing Akani Songsermsawad and Scott Donaldson up against Wang Yuchen.
Afternoon Session
The TV table is due to be occupied by Judd Trump in this first set of three matches in the afternoon session. He is due to face Stuart Carrington but there is talk that he could pull out after his cue didn’t arrive back from China with him. The other main table sees Robbie Williams facing Yan Bingtao. Zhou Yuelong and Graeme Dott will occupy an outside table as will Welsh duo Jak Jones and Lee Walker. Duane Jones will play Mitchell Mann with Rhys Clark meeting Matthew Selt. Tom Ford plays Fergal O’Brien with Paul Davison playing Rod Lawler.
The second set of matches begin on the TV table with John Higgins up against Nigel Bond while the streamed offering is Liang Wenbo against Jackson Page. Some good players feature on the outside tables not least the match between Jimmy Robertson and Michael White. Elsewhere Jamie Clarke plays Mike Dunn and Matthew Stevens meets Leo Fernandez.
The other three matches in the session will see Alan McManus playing the Chinese star Yuan Sijun while Stephen Maguire looks to have a comfortable game when he faces Basem Eltahhan. The main game sees Mark Williams playing James Wattana.
Evening Session
Ronnie O’Sullivan will continue his bid for the £1m bonus on the main table first up in the evening session. He plays the German professional Lukas Kleckers. That will be on the TV table with Daniel Wells against Dave Gilbert on the streamed table. The other matches see Mark Joyce facing Ben Woollaston, Gary Wilson against Alexander Ursenbacher and Chris Totten against Chris Wakelin.
The last two matches of the day will see Barry Hawkins taking on Zhao Xintong on the main table with Ryan Day up against John Astley on the streamed table.

Betting
After two winners on Monday I’ll go with two more on Tuesday. The first is on Zhou Yuelong to beat Graeme Dott. Dott had a decent week in China last week but I really like Yuelong and I remain convinced he’ll go very deep in more tournaments this season. Whether that is here or not remains to be seen but this is his distance and I think he can see off a Dott for whom one decent week doesn’t launch a season.
Alexander Ursenbacher was a semi-finalist in the first Home Nations event of the season but I fancy he could be an early casualty in the second. He takes on a Gary Wilson who is very solid and knows how to get the better of these young bucks. Ursenbacher has ability but to date he’s just had one good week. Until he delivers more regularly I’m happy taking players likes Wilson to beat him.
