2017 Turkish Airlines Open Golf – Final Round Betting Preview

The final round of the Turkish Airlines Open takes place on Sunday. After this round there will be just eight rounds of golf left of the 2017 European Tour season so every shot is going to count, especially for those battling it out for the Race to Dubai title. We have a top class leaderboard so we are set for a thrilling finale to this tournament.

Saturday Recap

After another day of low scoring out in Turkey we have joint leaders heading into the final round. Shane Lowry and our pre-tournament pick of Kiradech Aphibarnrat will go into Sunday with a two shot lead on 14 under par with a host of players at 12 under including Justin Rose who is looking for back-to-back wins.

Overnight leader Nicolas Colsaerts and Padraig Harrington are the others on 12 under with Thomas Pieters a shot further back on 11 under. There is another sizeable group on 10 under looking for low rounds to try and force their way to the top of the leaderboard. Defending champion Thorbjorn Olesen and Eddie Pepperell are among this group.

We had another winning bet on Saturday when Justin Rose outshot his playing partners by a couple of shots to give us three wins from four in our match bets this week and we are all set up for a profitable Sunday too.

Sunday Betting

We only have the outright market to go at on Sunday from a big market point of view but having already backed one of the two joint leaders before a ball was struck in this tournament I’ve no need to go back in on that market. Maybe if the front two were a little further clear I would back Lowry but this is far from a two horse race so I’ll take my chances with Aphibarnrat and head to the three balls for a Sunday punt.

Sunday 3 balls

The leading trio out onto the golf course sees Kiradech Aphibarnrat joining the Irish duo of Shane Lowry and Padraig Harrington. They tee off at 8.31 GMT and are one of a number of groups who are out on the track. Just one of them interests me from a betting point of view though I must say.

Joost Luiten/Julian Suri/Paul Dunne

Match tees off at 07.50 GMT

Three men who go into the final round five shots off the lead will form one of the later groups on the final day when Joost Luiten partners Julian Suri and Paul Dunne over the closing 18 holes.

Suri and Dunne have done very well to be this far up in the tournament because their tee to green games have been very loose. Both men are very low on the fairways hit ranking for the week and in Dunne’s case he hasn’t been hitting too many greens either which is a concern for him.

Luiten has been very solid with the long clubs and as a result of that he has made a lot of birdies. Had it not been for the final hole robbing him of a couple of shots over the week he would have been in a much stronger contention for the title but we know he is playing well given his run in Spain last week and I think that his long game will see him outscore his partners here.

Tips

Back J.Luiten to beat J.Suri & P.Dunne for a 3/10 stake at 2.70 with Betfred
