Early Kick Off

The champions of the top two divisions kick things off on Saturday when the Championship winners Wolves host the Premier League champions Manchester City. These two met last season in the Carabao Cup when City won on penalties on their way to the trophy. That was at the Etihad though and this one takes place at what is sure to be a raucous Molineux.

3pm Matches

The pick of the 3pm matches comes from the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal and West Ham go in search of their first points of the season when they meet. It might only be the third weekend of the campaign but already the match between Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City looks like a relegation six pointer. The other two matches in this kick off time sees Bournemouth playing host to Everton in a clash between two sides who have begun the season well while Southampton welcome Leicester to St Mary’s Stadium in the other game.

Late Game

Liverpool will look to keep up their 100% record in the final match of the day when they entertain Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield. Brighton will be looking to build on their fine victory over Manchester United last time out but they face a tougher test from a Liverpool side who have begun the season very strongly with a powerful attacking outlook.

Betting

I like goals in a couple of matches on Saturday afternoon and they should start to come in the very first game when Wolves take on Manchester City. It might be a complete bluff but I liked the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo claimed he isn’t going to change the way his side play for anyone. Considering Everton and Leicester City have scored twice against Wolves this term already you have to think Pep Guardiola’s men will bag a couple at the very least. I sense Wolves are going to have a go here though. With only one point from their two matches they almost have to so over 3 goals looks to have plenty of mileage.

The two worst sides in the division, Huddersfield aside, so far have been Arsenal and West Ham and when they meet at the Emirates I’m expecting the goals to flow. If Arsenal get going offensively they could well bag a few but there has been much debate about them playing out from the back and how it doesn’t come naturally to them and I’m sure that won’t be lost on West Ham so I’m expecting them to employ a high press. Both will feel they can trouble the opposition here and so over 3.25 goals is the play here.
