The Vitality Blast pauses for a round of matches in the Specsavers County Championship on Sunday to allow players to prepare for the upcoming Test series against India. In all we have eight matches across the two divisions.
With the weather set to be fantastic across the country over the week, especially in the South, we should get plenty of finishes from these matches and with it the chance to make a few quid along the way.
Division One
The top two meet in the clash of the round when Surrey make the trip up the M1 to Nottingham to take on Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. There is another high profile match at Old Trafford where Lancashire host Yorkshire in the Roses clash which sees James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Jos Buttler all in action. The other match of the week sees Worcestershire hosting title chasing Somerset at New Road.
Division Two
The big match in the second division comes from Lord’s where Middlesex host the leaders Warwickshire while Kent in second place take on Leicestershire at Canterbury. Durham make the huge journey to Cheltenham to take on Gloucestershire with Derbyshire going up against Northamptonshire at Chesterfield. The other match is a day-night one which sees Sussex going up against Glamorgan down at Hove.

Betting
I’m not going to go too mad in this round of matches because I suspect a lot of the attention will be on the T20 still. Most of these sides were playing in the T20 competition on Friday night so they won’t have had much time to adjust to red ball cricket once again.
I will take one bet though which sees Surrey beating Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire have done well to move to second having lost three matches but since the first part of the season they have lost their second highest run scorer in Ross Taylor and Chris Nash is out injured. Surrey have Aaron Finch and Morne Morkel in their squad and look strong in all departments. They can win this.
