2020-21 Premier League – Sunday 13th December Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend hasn’t hit the heights that was expected of it so far but there is the chance for it to come to life on Sunday when five matches take place on what has the look of a very competitive day of action about it.

The top two going into the weekend are in action on Sunday and four of the top six in total so the quality should be assured on a day where the matches come one after the other until the end of the day, all of which can be seen live with the relevant broadcasters.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off and TV in brackets)

Southampton vs Sheffield United (12.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur (14.15 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Fulham vs Liverpool (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Arsenal vs Burnley (19.15 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

Leicester City vs Brighton and Hove Albion (19.15 – Amazon Prime Video)

Preview

The action begins at St Mary’s where fans return for the first time in nine months when a very good Southampton side host the struggling Sheffield United who are heading towards Christmas still looking for their first win of the season. It is all about the top two in the capital after that game. There is a London derby at Selhurst Park where fans also return when Crystal Palace meet the leaders Tottenham Hotspur while another 2,000 fans will see Fulham taking on the champions Liverpool.

The last two games of the day kick off at the same time so there is a rare clash. Staying in London there is an interesting looking match between Arsenal and Burnley where I think it is fair to say there is pressure on both teams and both managers with both teams beginning the day in the bottom six. The other match comes from the King Power Stadium where Leicester City will be looking to put on a more convincing display than we’ve seen from them recently when they host a Brighton and Hove Albion side who look a pretty team but don’t win as many football matches as they should.

Betting

This is one of those days where there is a lot that tempts me but I’m mindful of the fact that nothing went right for me on Saturday night and there is a midweek round and another weekend fixture list to follow that so I’m going to reel it in a little bit and end up taking just the one bet. I was tempted by Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City but there isn’t a huge amount of juice in the lines or the prices so they can be left alone. The bet comes from the match between Arsenal and Burnley.

Arsenal look very short to me in this match. They are really struggling in the Premier League. They have only won one of their last seven matches but more of a concern is that they have only scored twice in that period. The worst thing is that there aren’t many matches where they’ve looked like scoring more. Burnley are another team who haven’t scored many goals but their issues have been down to early season injuries and if you take out their defeat to Manchester City they are undefeated in the other three games in their last four which suggests that they might be coming to life again as they did last term. Burnley don’t concede many and their physical style will make them confident they can find the net in this game. One goal may well be enough to get something from the game so with a full goal head start on the Asian lines I’ll side with Burnley here.
