The first set of Easter weekend matches in the Sky Bet Championship conclude on Saturday when the last game takes place on an afternoon which is a pretty important one at both ends of the second tier table as Huddersfield Town play host to Brentford.
Huddersfield are looking for the points to secure another season in the Championship while Brentford have seen Watford scoot clear in the race for automatic promotion and are unlikely to reel them in if they don’t win this match.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels. The programme begins at 12pm with the match itself kicking off at 12.30pm.
Huddersfield Town
This is the second season that Huddersfield Town have been in the Championship and while there has been a slight improvement on last term, you would have expected them to be faring much better given that they are still in receipt of parachute payments. At this stage they are just concerned with ensuring a third season of Championship football and if the 50 point number is the mark for safety they need eight points from their last nine matches.
After an up and down campaign, the Terriers went into the international break on a four match unbeaten run so they will be dearly hoping that the time off has not halted the flow they were building up. Their critics would argue they only won one of those matches but perhaps more noticeable was that they only conceded two goals in that run. Their success in this division in the past was formed by a strong defensive record.
Brentford
You get the impression this is a huge match for Brentford. I don’t just say that because Watford look like they are away and gone in terms of the chase for automatic promotion, and will be if the Bees don’t come out on top here, but also because Brentford have a habit of making a mess of promotion late on in the season. They have done it for the last two years and had similar issues in the lower leagues so if they restart in poor form this might be another of those occasions.
They can’t afford to think like that and if they don’t think that way they should go very well in this match. I say that because I’ve seen all the teams in this league and only Norwich at their very best come close to them, but it is one thing promising to be that good when there is little pressure around, you have to do it when it matters. For all the doom and gloom Brentford have only lost one of their last six which was away to the runaway leaders Norwich City which isn’t exactly a terrible result.

Team News
Carlos Corberan has declared Rolando Aarons fit and available for this match and is hoping to have Pipa and Juninho Bacuna available but is unlikely to be able to call on Oumar Niasse. Harry Toffolo is another who misses out injured.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that all his internationals have returned ok and that he has no new injury problems so he will have the same squad available that he used in the win over Nottingham Forest prior to the international break.
Betting
I think Brentford will win this match but they’re a little on the tight side price wise so I’m prepared to look elsewhere. I don’t expect scores to be run up here or anything like that. It was quite noticeable that it was a low scoring day in the Championship on Friday and I expect nothing different here. I think that was understandable with so many internationals away and also there is another game on the horizon so teams will need to save something for that, whether it is subconsciously or in terms of personnel.
This also isn’t time of the season for being flashy and outrageously impressive. The pitches are knackered, the pressure is on and every point matters so now it is about the results rather than the performances which is another reason why I expect the low scoring weekend to continue. You can get 5/6 on under 2.5 goals here and with none of the last four Huddersfield matches going over 2.5 goals and only one Brentford match in that time covering the line I think that 5/6 has plenty of legs.
