We have reached the middle Monday in the World Championship and we are set up for an outstanding day inside the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield as the quarter final line up in the event is finalised.
There are two sessions of play over the course of the day and four matches on show, all of which have one session left in them and either have a 9-7 scoreline or an 8-8 one. The day is set up for twists, turns, drama, tension and excitement.
Sunday Recap
There were no matches due to be finished on Sunday and unlike last year there was no one-sided matches that finished a session early. In fact all four matches could scarcely be tighter. There is absolutely nothing between John Higgins and Stuart Bingham heading into their final session. They are locked at 8-8 with the other three matches all being 9-7 going into Monday’s play. Zhou Yuelong has that advantage on Ali Carter while Marry Hawkins holds the same lead over Kyren Wilson. Ding Junhui is also 9-7 ahead of Judd Trump too.

In Play Betting
I’ve got three bets running from earlier in the week in these matches but I can’t resist one more in the evening session here. The Judd Trump against Ding Junhui match was the one many looked forward to when the second round draw was confirmed but in fairness to both men it hasn’t yet lived up to the billing, but I sense that could all be about to change.
Judd Trump in particularly has been very ordinary in this match. He hasn’t scored at all and has looked up against it throughout. I sense a lot of it is because he has seen Mark Selby and Ronnie O’Sullivan both depart the draw from his half and knows if he wins here he has nobody above number 15 in the world between now and the final. I always think Trump is better as an underdog and he can class himself as that now so I expect his best session of the match to date. With that in mind I quite fancy over 23.5 frames from here on in. Trump has to win 6-1 for this not to come in which looks unlikely but I certainly expect Trump to give his everything. I’ll play the over in frames as this has 13-11 or 13-12 written all over it from here.
