The NFL season is very much at the business end now and after three matches to begin the week on Thursday and Saturday night, we have another bunch of games in the usual Sunday kick off slots as spots in the play-offs and division titles are up for grabs.
Once again on a Sunday there are a couple of TV matches for us to enjoy in the UK and then the popular RedZone programme for all the key bits of the other matches. Those other matches can be viewed in full with certain bookmakers too.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The televised match on this side of the pond in the first set of matches on Sunday evening sees two division title chasers meeting when the Washington Football Team host the Seattle Seahawks in a match neither can afford to lose. There are four other matches from the same division here with the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South while the Indianapolis Colts go up against the Houston Texans in the AFC South. The Miami Dolphins look to remain on track for a wildcard place when they take on the New England Patriots in the AFC East while the Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears in the NFC North.
The other matches in this kick off slot sees the Baltimore Ravens looking to enhance their hopes of a wildcard spot when they take on the poor Jacksonville Jaguars side while the Dallas Cowboys meet the San Francisco 49ers in a game the Cowboys will be eager to win. The other match sees the leaders of the AFC South, Tennessee Titans, taking on the Detroit Lions knowing they need to win out to guarantee winning the division.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
One of the matches of the season is the offering as the TV match in the later slot of games when the New Orleans Saints host the Kansas City Chiefs in what might well be the Super Bowl in a couple of months. Both sides have already won their division and are now chasing the number one seeds in their respective Conferences. The other two matches will have a big say in who could win the NFC West as the Los Angeles Rams host the New York Jets while the Arizona Cardinals welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to the desert.
Betting
I’ll go with one bet over the course of the night and it comes in the huge clash in the second slot of matches where I don’t think I will be alone in expecting a barrel load of points in the match between the New Orleans Saints and the Kansas City Chiefs. These offenses are just too powerful not to put up points and indoors you’ve got to think they will do it quite easily and regularly, especially with Drew Brees back pulling the strings for the Saints.
You can get 4/5 on over 51.5 points here and that looks a perfectly acceptable price on a very achievable line. While these two defences aren’t as bad as they were in previous seasons both teams are pushing hard for the number one seed in their respective Conference and already have their division titles wrapped up so I expect this to quickly turn into a shootout and with the quarterbacks on show the points can start flowing early and keep on coming.
