It is the final day of the Baltic Sea Darts Open on Sunday when as ever with a European Tour event the last four rounds of the tournament takes place as we play down to the first winner of the circuit in 2023.
We saw some shocks on Saturday but in the main the seeded layers came through which should make for a decent conclusion to the tournament. The last 16 takes place in the afternoon which we can preview but the quarter finals onwards are all in the evening where time restrictions will stop us looking at those but our two outright bets remain in the hunt so hopefully they can provide some evening interest.
First Four Matches
The number one seed Luke Humphries gets the show on the road on Sunday. As the play is played out as per the draw bracket Humphries will open up every session he remains in the event for although Dimitri Van den Bergh will be hoping to end his existence in it. When they are done power scoring will be the order of the day when the world champion Michael Smith faces Dirk van Duijvenbode. The surprise package in the tournament, Martijn Dragt, takes on Ryan Searle in the third match of the afternoon before we hit the halfway mark when Peter Wright takes on Keegan Brown.

Later Four Matches
The bottom half of the draw will play down to the quarter finals in the second part of the afternoon session and that begins with Stephen Bunting, the man who took care of Michael van Gerwen in the previous round, going up against Jonny Clayton before Steve Beaton continues to roll back the years when he meets Joe Cullen. Damon Heta is up in the penultimate match in the afternoon session. He takes on the one remaining home player in Martin Schindler before we round off the last 16 with Dave Chisnall meeting Gerwyn Price.
Betting
We’ve seen throughout the Premier League campaign that missed doubles have dogged Jonny Clayton and if they come along again here then we know that Stephen Bunting is playing well enough to take advantage of them. I say that because he started the year with a run to the quarter finals of the World Championship and in the four Players Championship tournaments there have been he has made a quarter final and two last 16s.
In one of those events he beat Jonny Clayton on the way so he has recent form over the Welshman, who wasn’t so much lucky that Ted Evetts didn’t turn up in the previous round on Saturday but he certainly wasn’t challenged by him and could just be vulnerable as a result of that. Bunting certainly was challenged by Michael van Gerwen and the lift he would have got from a first win over the Dutchman in seven years should give him another boost in confidence and he feels a decent price to win this.
