There is another double header of action in the Indian Premier League on Sunday and it begins in Hyderabad as the Sunrisers Hyderabad take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in what is already a big match for both teams for different reasons.
These two have made completely different starts to their campaigns with the Sunrisers picking up one win from their opening two matches to begin their season and the Royal Challengers Bangalore losing their first two games. That makes this a competitive affair.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
In a change to their recent trends the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been involved in a couple of high scoring matches to begin the campaign. Usually we are familiar with their bowling attack being difficult to score off and their batting line up cruising as a result of being under little pressure to deliver, however the early signs this term are that we could be set for something different to that.
To their credit their batting line up has really come up with the goods even though they are under a bit more pressure and if they can keep on doing that then it might work to their advantage with the ball. When the bowlers realise they no longer have to keep the runs down they can go searching for wickets and become dangerous in a different way.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Once again a campaign that offered so much is looking like being a damp squib for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The worrying thing for them is that nothing seems to change year on year. They have this dynamite batting line up but it doesn’t matter a jot if their bowling continues to go round the park. They could argue that a controversial ending denied them in the previous match but they would still have needed a boundary off the last ball even if the no ball was given.
It seems that whatever combination is used and when they are utilised the Royal Challengers just cannot bowl at the death. In a way that is their own fault because they spend too much of their capital on their batting line up to the detriment of their bowling options and they pay the price for doing so. It might be time to drop an overseas all-rounder for a genuine top class bowler.
Team News
After a demolition job with the bat against the Rajasthan Royals you would think the Sunrisers Hyderabad will keep an unchanged side with the bat. Whether it needs to be freshened up with the ball remains to be seen.
Royal Challengers Bangalore surely have to try something different to what they are doing. Moeen Ali might be useful with the ball but he hasn’t offered anything with the bat so it could be time for Tim Southee until the Australians arrive.

Betting
I’m expecting a pretty high scoring match here I must admit. These day matches tend to be on the higher scoring side and both teams have been abysmal at the death so far in the tournament which is only likely to see the runs flow even more. We saw in the opening game here earlier in the week that the pitch looks lovely and the outfield is like glass.
There were 52 boundaries in the first match here with a much better Rajasthan Royals bowling attack on show compared to the ones involved here and with it being a day game too the runs should really flow. The boundaries line is set at 41.5 and I think that looks a shade on the low side given the way the teams are batting and the conditions they will bat in.
