Big Matches
The televised action begins in the Big Apple as the latest running of the Hudson River derby takes place when the New York Red Bulls host their rivals from the Bronx in New York City FC. We then get to see one of the best in the Western Conference in action in the second televised game which I’m sure has been picked as Gareth Bale could make his debut for Los Angeles FC when they travel to Nashville SC. The final match on TV sees the Portland Timbers hosting their Cascadia Cup rivals Vancouver Whitecaps in another appealing contest.
Best of the Rest
The action begins in Atlanta where Atlanta United will look to add to their midweek win over Real Sale Lake when they host rivals Orlando City while we have the two Ohio teams meeting as well when the Columbus Crew take on FC Cincinnati. The other two matches come from the Western Conference where Real Salt Lake welcome Sporting Kansas City to Rio Tinto while at the same time the San Jose Earthquakes will be looking to build on their good recent form when they welcome the Houston Dynamo to PayPal Stadium.
Betting
There is one bet which really interests me on this card and that comes in the match between the San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo where I think the home side should be good things. I say that because they go into this match in very good form. I’m not sure about the legitimacy of their win over LA Galaxy in midweek in terms of the form guide but it was a win nevertheless, which extended their run to just three defeats in 13, the majority of which have come under interim coach Alex Covelo.
Those three losses were away to the champions New York City FC, away to LAFC who are the best team in MLS this term and away to Real Salt Lake which is one of the tougher places to go. The key thing here is that they are at home where they have won four of their last five and are unbeaten since the opening day of the season. They now host Houston Dynamo who are all of nothing away from home with two wins and seven defeats, including one in Austin in midweek. Houston now have to make the long trip to California and I expect them to come up short here.
