We have reached another Sunday in the NFL 2021 season and it is one where the majority of the league hit the halfway mark for their campaign so it promises to be another very competitive and defining day.
As ever there are two matches live on TV for those of us on this side of the pond to enjoy and then all the key action will be shown on the Red Zone show while certain bookmakers will stream some of the matches as well.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The TV attention in the first slot of matches on Sunday comes from the AFC North where two sides who compete in that division meet when the Cincinnati Bengals host the Cleveland Browns in what is a huge clash for both teams and the division as a whole. Seven other matches take place in the first slot of games with surprisingly just the one divisional contest among them. That comes in the NFC South where the New Orleans Saints welcome the Atlanta Falcons to the Superdome.
The Baltimore Ravens have the chance to improve their record on Sunday when they play host to the Minnesota Vikings while the Carolina Panthers will look to get back on track when they take on a New England Patriots who have found a little bit of form in recent times. The Dallas Cowboys are on fire at the minute and they will look to pick up another win when they host the Denver Broncos while the Buffalo Bills head to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Two poor sides meet in Florida when the Miami Dolphins host the Houston Texans while New York Giants take on the Las Vegas Raiders in the other match.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
That leaves us with just the three matches in the later of the two kick off slots and we were all set for an extremely juicy looking contest in the TV game among this trio. That was due to see Patrick Mahomes taking on Aaron Rodgers when the Kansas City Chiefs meet the Green Bay Packers but the Green Bay quarterback is out after testing positive for Covid. That might allow the Chiefs the chance to build some momentum in what has been a difficult season so far.
The other two matches offers us a divisional clash when the San Francisco 49ers meet the Arizona Cardinals in a big match for both teams. The Cardinals are injury ravaged so the 49ers might be getting their NFC West rivals at just the right time. The other match comes from the former champions as the Philadelphia Eagles look to show some signs of life when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers, who could do with finding some consistency.
Betting
I’ll go with just the one bet here which comes in the match which involves the Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos, a match I fancy the home side to win and win it fairly well. I say that because the Broncos were on a four match losing streak prior to last week and a narrow win over the Washington Football Team isn’t enough to make me think they’ve turned the corner. They are having issues with injuries at quarterback and there’s no Von Miller to rush the opposing passer any more.
There were concerns that the injury to Dak Prescott would put a halt to this Cowboys’ season but Cooper Rush didn’t read any of those scripts. He was pretty solid in the win over the Minnesota Vikings and if he is needed again here he’ll build in confidence from that win. There is an expectation that Dak Prescott plays and if he does Dallas could cruise to victory in this one. With a balanced offense in which the run and the pass are flourishing and a much improved defence I expect Dallas to win and cover here.
