The Premier League weekend concludes on Sunday afternoon when half of the matches in the latest round of games take place on a day where we could get an indication over where the title could head come the end of the season.
Two of the five matches are live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy and with it being such a busy day of action I would expect there to be regular updates on all of the other games on what should be a cracking afternoon of football.
Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (2pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)
Aston Villa v Chelsea (Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
Leeds United v Arsenal
Manchester United v Newcastle United
Southampton v West Ham United
Liverpool v Manchester City (4.30pm – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The top three from last season are all in action in the two TV matches on Sunday afternoon. They begin at Villa Park where Aston Villa will be looking for a convincing performance as they look to extend their unbeaten run. Chelsea are the visitors to the second city and they will be out to build on a good start under Graham Potter. The second of the TV matches is usually the game of the season when Liverpool host Manchester City but with Jurgen Klopp having already ruled the Reds out of the title this one feels all about City.
The leaders are in action away from the cameras on Sunday afternoon. That is Arsenal and they will look to build on their win in Norway on Thursday when they head to Elland Road to take on a Leeds United side who could do with a win to ease some pressure that is building on them. Manchester United know all about pressure and they are at home to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon with the other match seeing under fire Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl looking to mastermind a win when his team host West Ham United.
Betting
We have seen Aston Villa on our screens in two of their last three matches and there has been absolutely nothing convincing about them whatsoever so a Chelsea side who are quite vibrant under Graham Potter should have too much for them, especially as we can expect them to dominate possession of the football. The concern would be that they had midweek exertions but that was on Tuesday night and they had the match won in Milan pretty early so even that is only a minor concern.
Aston Villa have still only won two matches this season. They fell over the line against Everton and bored the pants off Southampton in the other one. Their big players are not delivering on their reputations and I’m not sure that changes against a decent Chelsea defence. Chelsea look good going forward, as all sides coached by Potter do, and you’ve got to think the quality in their strike force will have a couple of goals in them and I’m happy to back them to win this one.
