The Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football this week and that comes from Stamford Bridge where Champions League chasing Chelsea host a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who are battling to avoid the drop.
Both teams need the points for different reasons with the Blues able to move back into the top four with a win while if Wolves are victorious they have the chance to put three points between themselves and the bottom three.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live and in full on the Monday Night Football programme which will be aired on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football. The show begins at 6.30pm ahead of the 8pm kick off.
Chelsea
It was only a month or so ago that Chelsea were starting to be talked about as being runners in the title race. Whether that chat got to them or something else happened, they have gone five matches without a win at just the wrong time and could do with a victory here to steady the ship and have them back in the Champions League spots, which was probably their target when the season began given how far they had fallen away, rather than to win the league title.
The Blues were a free scoring machine prior to this slump in form but four goals in those five games have left them vulnerable and as a result of that they haven’t won any of them. They will be looking for much more from their attacking output, not least when you consider the wealth of stars they have at the top end of the pitch. Defensively, Chelsea have been a work in progress all season but regular injuries haven’t been helping with their ability to keep the ball out of their net.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
This has been a tough season for Wolverhampton Wanderers so far but after a wretched opening quarter of the campaign they have done enough since changing manager to get themselves out of the bottom three in the table but they haven’t pulled away from trouble as much as they would have wanted to. Nevertheless, there is a possibility of looking up which didn’t appear apparent a few weeks ago so they need to use that as a positive.
After two wins to open up the Vitor Pereira era at Molineux, Wolves have not gone three without winning in the Premier League and have conceded eight goals in that time so they won’t need to look too far to see where they are going wrong. They haven’t scored in their last two but that is a little more understandable when you consider they have faced Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United in those games and they are among the best defences in the league.

Team News
Chelsea have doubts over Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Romea Lavia and Levi Colwill after all missed training on Friday and if they miss out then they will join Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana on the injured list.
Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina has done a U-turn in his refusal to play for the club in midweek and is available for this one. Matheus Cunha has been suffering with flu and might be doubtful as a result of that.
Betting
I’m not sure I can trust either of these teams right now when it comes to winning the match. That is because I certainly wouldn’t want to put my faith in either of these defences right now. Neither team are in particularly good form at the minute and that is largely because of their defence. Chelsea have kept one clean sheet in their last eight matches while Wolves have only kept three clean sheets all season and two of those were against two of the three teams below them in the table.
There are goals in both of these sides. We saw that in the reverse meeting which ended 6-2 to Chelsea and we saw it in both matches last season too with Wolves claiming a 2-1 win at home and a 4-2 win in this fixture. Goals are the angle I want to attack here and with the potential for both teams to score I like the idea of that and then over 2.5 goals on top. That gets us to a 1.83 price which is perfectly acceptable. This bet has landed in 10 of the 21 Chelsea matches but 13 of the Wolves 21 games. I think it lands here too.
