This weekend might be an international break but there is no respite for the League Two sides as they play another round of fixtures on Saturday and Sunday.
There are no less than nine matches being played in England’s basement league on Saturday with Portsmouth, Luton and Oxford all playing and looking to make ground on the leading duo who don’t play.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows:
Barnet v Accrington
Cambridge v Portsmouth
Carlisle v Morecambe
Crawley v Leyton Orient
Luton v York
Mansfield v Newport
Northampton v Hartlepool
Oxford Utd v Wimbledon
Yeovil v Dag & Red
On the face of it this isn’t the easiest set of matches to bet on. There are a couple of away sides I like who are a little on the short side in the form of Portsmouth and Leyton Orient and I nearly took another one in Accrington but I couldn’t pull the trigger.
Mansfield and Carlisle tempted me as home sides but they might be a little bit short as well which isn’t ideal so I decided to settle with one bet for this matchday.
Luton took a while to get going this season but they have hit top form recently winning their last four league matches and scoring seven goals in two away games in recent times.
They take on a York side where all doesn’t appear quite right at the minute. Russell Wilcox seems to be under pressure from the Minstermen fans and they are winless in their last five league matches so confidence is likely to be low.
Luton don’t have the best record in this fixture in recent times but they are the ones full of confidence and if they can score early then this could turn into a similar scoreline that they beat Hartlepool with last week.
Back Luton to beat York for a 4/10 stake at 2.05 with Bet365
