Castleford Tigers vs Warrington Wolves

It is fourth against third at The Jungle as the Castleford Tigers take on the Warrington Wolves in a match which could actually be big when it comes to the play-offs at the end of the season so even though they have the Challenge Cup final next week the Wolves can’t afford to take it too easy here.

Both sides have a buffer on fifth placed Huddersfield but both sit just three points behind Wigan Warriors with six matches left to play so it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that the winners here could catch them and host a semi-final. The losers would have difficulty doing that so this is a key looking contest.

Both teams are rotating players for this match to keep everyone as fresh as possible for the run in although why Castleford are going down that route when they have next week off I’m not entirely sure. Although Warrington are rotating they do bring two big guns back in Stefan Ratchford and Ben Murdoch-Masila.

I don’t think there is a lot between these two teams and it might be that Warrington have the better depth but that is not reflected in the odds where the Wolves are 2/1. That can only be because of next week’s final and while I admit it is a concern I just can’t ignore that price. Hopefully Warrington put next week to one side for a couple of hours and have a right good go here. If they do they’re a big price.

Huddersfield Giants vs Hull FC

The match away from the cameras sees two sides in much different form going at it when the Huddersfield Giants play host to Hull FC at the John Smith’s Stadium. Huddersfield go into the match having won their last four games while Hull FC have lost their last four.

With that in mind I think it is right that the home side are the favourites in this match but handicaps in the 8-10pt region could be spot on. If there is one thing Hull FC are it is fighters and they will be hurting from their recent form. Huddersfield are charging but might have left their run for the play-offs too late. I think this is one of those trappy looking matches which I’m happy to leave alone.
