The qualifiers begin in the Super League on Thursday evening. This is the section of the competition where the worst four sides in the top flight battle it out with the best four from the second tier for the right to play Super League next season.
This opening match sees the Widnes Vikings taking on the London Broncos with both sides looking for the victory which will ease the pressure slightly on their upcoming matches.

Widnes Vikings
It has been a season to forget so far for the Widnes Vkings but if there is a good thing to have come from that then it comes in the form of the fact that being in the qualifiers will not be something they have just come to terms with. They have known for a month or two that their fate will be sealed in this competition.
With that in mind you could argue that their season actually gets underway in this contest and it will be interested to see the mindset the head into the game with. They have had two weeks since their final match of the regular season so there can be no excuses if they are not good enough here it has to be said.
London Broncos
In one way you would say the London Broncos have nothing to lose here. They made it into the qualifiers on the final day of the regular season when they gave Barrow an almighty beating. On the other note with the current Super 8s format being canned either at the end of this season or the one after, if they do want to regain their Super League place this could be their best chance.
Anyone who has watched the London Broncos over recent times will know that they change their game against nobody. They will give the ball some air and play an expansive type of rugby. If it all sorts to plan they can tear sides away but if they are slightly off their game it can leave them exposed to a good side.

Betting
I’m expecting the points to flow here. Widnes Vikings will want to put a marker down on these qualifiers and that should see them look to run up the points while we know London Broncos are often involved in high scoring games with their expansive outlook.
There were 54pts when these two met in the qualifiers last season but that was in the penultimate round of matches when tiredness had set in on the Broncos and their Super League chances had all but gone. That isn’t the case here. Both will be fresh from the week off and so over 54.5pts can land accordingly.
