The second set of matches in the new Super League season conclude on Saturday when the four sides yet to play this weekend take to the field at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens as we head into the break for the Challenge Cup next week.
Of the four sides on show we have three teams who have their eyes on making the Grand Final this season and another who were at the big dance just two seasons ago so the quality should be there for all to see.
Where to watch
The double header will be shown live on the Sky Sports Arena channel with the build up to the matches beginning at 12pm and the games kicking off at 12.15pm and 2.30pm.
Salford Red Devils vs Hull FC (12.15)
The opening match of the Saturday double header sees the beaten Challenge Cup finalists of last season in Salford Red Devils taking on one of our pre-season picks for the Super League crown this term in the form of Hull FC.
These two sides began their campaigns in very different manners last week. Salford were blown out of the water by St Helens, which in itself isn’t a disaster although I’m sure they would have wanted to be more competitive than they happened to be. Hull FC couldn’t have been much more impressive in their win over the fancied Huddersfield Giants last week although their critics will point out that Huddersfield were without their star playmaker in that match. That wasn’t Hull’s concern though. I expect them to win this but having backed them for the title I don’t need to be backing them to cover a double figure handicap at this stage of the season.

Huddersfield Giants vs Catalans Dragons (14.30)
The final match of the weekend sees the beaten semi-finalists Catalans Dragons in action when they go up against the team many perceived to be the dark horses for this campaign in the form of the Huddersfield Giants.
The Giants didn’t look like that last week, although I did intimate that could be the case given the overhaul of players they undertook and the fact they are getting used to a new coach without much of a traditional pre-season. They were also without Aiden Sezer last week and he is expected to be fit to play in this game which would be a huge boost for the Yorkshire outfit. Catalans got the win last week but after letting a 24 point lead slip they nearly came a cropper only to rescue themselves when it mattered the most. They’ll need to tighten up their discipline here for sure.
I’ve a feeling that the Dragons might be overpriced at 11/8 here but the better bet could be over 42.5 points. Neither team impressed in defence last week but if Sezer does feature here he is going to provide the Giants with a leader on the field and really improve their attacking play. Matches between these two tend to be very high scoring and I would wager that is because of the class they have always had in the backs. That remains the case here so I like the over in this one.
