The final day of China Open qualifying takes place in Cannock and it sees those who are yet to play, who have not had their match held over to the main venue, doing so with the aim of progressing to the final stages in Beijing next month.
That means that we will see the likes of Shaun Murphy, Kyren Wilson, Jimmy White and Dave Gilbert in action among others on what is another busy day to round off the qualifying competition for the lucrative Chinese event.
Morning Session
Six matches take place in the morning session with Dave Gilbert on one of the main tables. He goes up against Sean O’Sullivan with the other streamed table having an interesting looking match between Ricky Walden and the amateur James Cahill, who is taking plenty of big name scalps with him this season.
Four clashes feature on the outside tables with Tom Ford’s match with Oliver Lines probably being the pick of them. Anthony Hamilton meets James Wattana in a battle of the veterans while Martin Gould and Rod Lawler meet in what must be a clash in styles. The other match in the session sees Mark Joyce taking on Nigel Bond.
Afternoon Session
Michael Holt gets the rare chance these days to be on one of the main tables. He goes up against former World Championship semi-finalist Joe Swail with the German Masters, Paul Hunter Classic and 6 Red winner Kyren Wilson on the other one. The Englishman meets Chen Feilong looking for a place in the main draw.
We have Li Hang going up against Jordan Brown on one of the outside tables while Mike Dunn meets Elliot Slessor on another of them. Lu Haotian takes on Ross Muir in another match out in the long grass as the players call it while the European Masters winner Jimmy Robertson is also away from the spotlight when he meets Ashley Carty.
Evening Session
Shaun Murphy is the main attraction in the evening session. He will look to make up for a ridiculous campaign thus far to see off Adam Stefanow to make it into the main event out in Beijing. That is on one of the main tables and Gary Wilson will go up against the ever popular Jimmy White on the other streamed table.
Four other matches make up the session with Andrew Higginson playing Duane Jones on one of the outside tables with Ben Woollaston meeting Li Yuan on another of them. Scott Donaldson will look to continue his good form from Cardiff last week when he faces Billy Joe Castle and former world champion Ken Doherty goes up against Paul Davison.

Betting
I’ll go with one bet to finish off my betting in this qualifying tournament. It comes in one of the evening matches as Andrew Higginson takes on Duane Jones for a spot out in Beijing. This is a big match for both, as it is for everyone competing with the rich prize fund on offer in this tournament so both will be eager to win it.
Higginson has lost in the first round of a few events recently whereas Jones is enjoying a decent 2019 thus far. He has made the semi-final of the German Masters already this month and then last week in Wales he took care of Judd Trump in the Welsh Open. He actually played well in that match and a repeat of that sort of form, or his play in Berlin, will be enough to come through here at odds against.
Tips
Back D.Jones to beat A.Higginson for a 4/10 stake at 2.10 with Coral
