German Masters Snooker 2025 – Day 3 Tips and Betting Preview

The second round of the German Masters will be played out in full inside the Tempodrom on Wednesday where we have three sessions of action to determine who will make it into the last 16 of the popular event.

We lost some of the big names in the opening round of the tournament so already those who have made it through to the Wednesday play will be on their toes to avoid a relatively early exit from this competition.

Morning Session

The world champion Kyren Wilson is the star attraction in the morning session on Wednesday. The Masters finalist goes up against Zhou Yuelong in the match which will be on the main table. There are some other good matches on the morning card too, one of which sees Zhang Anda going up against Robert Milkins while in another the finalist from last year, Si Jiahui, goes up against his compatriot Xiao Guodong in a repeat of the Wuhan Open final. John Higgins takes on Jak Jones in another match while the other two have Yuan Sijun facing Ross Muir and Ben Woollaston going up against Barry Hawkins.

Afternoon Session

The defending champion Judd Trump is the star on show in the afternoon session as the UK Championship winner looks to make it back into the last 16 when he goes up against Joe O’Connor who looks in decent form. Mark Allen is another big name competing in this session. He goes up against the man who has been beaten in two finals this season in Wu Yize while Ali Carter gets his quest for a third German Masters title up and running when he meets Alexander Ursenbacher. Neil Robertson has never won this tournament but he’ll look to go a step closer to putting that right when he meets Hammad Miah while the other match sees Ricky Walden facing the amateur Dylan Emery.

Evening Session

Five matches take place in the evening session and Mark Selby will be on the TV table when he goes up against Elliot Slessor. Elsewhere we have the recently crowned champion of The Masters on show when Shaun Murphy meets Thepchaiya Un-Nooh. Luca Brecel is probably safe for his tour card at the end of the season but he’ll want to keep picking up ranking points and Anthony McGill stands in his way. Tom Ford had a bye in the first round so he’ll get his tournament underway when he takes on Daniel Wells while the other match sees Jimmy Robertson facing Aaron Hill.

Betting

Mark Allen has never hidden away from the fact that he doesn’t like this venue, especially on the outside tables where the background lights mean that he struggles to locate the pockets when he is down on the shot and although he won 5-0 in the first round against David Lilley, he only made a couple of 70 breaks to suggest that nothing has changed in the way that he likes this venue and with that in mind I have to think he is vulnerable to a classy Wu Yize.

This has been a breakthrough season for Wu Yize and he’ll be well aware that the likes of Zhao Xintong, Yan Bingtao and Si Jiahui have all made the final of this event from his country in recent times and will want to add his name to the list. Wu beat Jackson Page in the opening round here and slammed in a couple of centuries along the way so he doesn’t seem to have as many issues with this setup and venue as what Allen seems to have. With that in mind, the 11/8 on a Wu Yize win seems good to me.

Tips

Back W.Yize to beat M.Allen for a 3/10 stake at 2.38 with William Hill
