The Super League XXVIII weekend continues with two matches on Saturday afternoon where the top two in the competition are in action against two sides who will be eager to resurrect their campaign after poor runs.
There might only be two matches over the course of the day but we still have a televised game to enjoy and the TV coverage will be on during the majority of the other match so there should be plenty of updates on that.
Warrington Wolves vs Huddersfield Giants (17.00 – Sky Sports Arena)
The television cameras head to the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the Warrington Wolves look to make it back to the top of the table when they play host to a Huddersfield Giants side whose season hasn’t got going at all thus far.
Both these teams lost at the Magic Weekend last week. Huddersfield were routed by St Helens, although to be fair to them that doesn’t look as bad a result now after what the champions did to Wigan on Friday night. Warrington were beaten by Hull FC a week ago and that doesn’t look as good a result. That was their second straight defeat and fourth in seven and as a result they have lost top spot in the division. If we include the loss to Salford in the Challenge Cup, Huddersfield have lost five of their last six matches and it is hard to see that they are getting better. Ian Watson spoke about constantly having to change his spine last week and that is a fair comment but you have to worry about their attack. It was clunky last season and doesn’t look any better this term. If this was a month or so ago I would be on Warrington with a fair bit of a confidence here but it isn’t and they have come off the top of their form enough for me to leave this match well alone.

Catalans Dragons vs Hull KR (18.00)
The match away from the TV cameras on Saturday evening comes from down in France where the new league leaders Catalans Dragons host a Hull KR side who are just showing signs of finding the going a little tough after a promising start to the season.
The big issue for the Robins is injuries and they picked up two more serious ones in defeat to Salford at the Magic Weekend last week. Lachlan Coote also misses this match with injury so Hull KR are beginning to run low on strike players and that is the last thing you need when travelling to the south of France. Catalans were a little in and out in the first half of this campaign but with players returning to the fold they have found their feet in recent weeks and their demolition of Wigan Warriors at the Magic Weekend showcased that they fully intend to send Sam Tomkins into retirement in the best way possible this season. The Dragons have won their last four matches in Super League and in those outings have scored 152 points. They are beginning to look like a huge team to stop offensively and with so many players missing I don’t expect Hull KR to do it. I’ll take the Dragons to win by a couple of converted tries.
