The Vitality Blast continues with two more matches on Tuesday evening with one game in each group as the competition continues to meander along. It is still fairly early days in the South Group but in the North Group things are beginning to get a little serious now.
We have a TV match which is the one from the South Group which we will begin the preview with while the other game has a live stream and radio commentary much like the one on Monday night did.
Surrey vs Glamorgan
The match in the South Group sees a resurgent and extremely powerful Surrey side hosting the team who made it all the way to Finals Day last year in the form of Glamorgan in the TV match at The Oval.
Surrey will go top of the pile in the South Group if they can win this match but Glamorgan would put themselves right in among the chasing pack for a top four spot if they can come away from Kensington with victory in their ranks. Surrey will bring Morne Morkel back for Sam Curran but have Jason Roy firmly in place. Joe Burns is in situ for Glamorgan who remain without Marchant de Lange.
I’m expecting the runs and the boundaries to flow here. Surrey have been brutal with the bat this season. They just stack their side with powerful batsmen and let them go and they have delivered some huge scores and with the sunshine back I don’t think they are done yet. Glamorgan never back down with the bat though and so I’m expecting over 42.5 boundaries to safely land here.
I’ll also take a punt on Chris Cooke to top score for the visitors. Clearly the main three of Colin Ingram, Usman Khawaja and Joe Burns are the ones to beat but Cooke wouldn’t be the first to come in late in the order and splatter a score and he wouldn’t be the last either. It is a long shot given the quality in the Glamorgan ranks but he top scored against Essex and is worth a tiny punt to do likewise here.

Yorkshire vs Leicestershire
The match in the North Group is a pretty big one for the home side Yorkshire. They play for the second time in as many evenings and you feel they really need to beat Leicestershire after Derbyshire spanked them on Monday night.
Although it is never easy backing up a match the day after Yorkshire do have comfort from the fact they were at home in it so there was no travelling involved and this match begins late enough so I don’t expect that to have too much of an impact. Leicestershire will be looking to respond to a defeat by Derbyshire last week and if they can find a win here they will be right in the pack chasing a top four spot.
I have to be with Leicestershire here. Yorkshire were abysmal on Monday night and it will take more than 24hrs to turn that around. Leicestershire have been excellent on the road this season and I see no reason why that can’t continue against a Yorkshire side who will be playing a fourth high intensity game in five days which is pretty tough.
I also expect a high scoring match here. Yorkshire have just been taken to the cleaners by Derbyshire’s batsmen and in truth Birmingham ran up the runs here on Friday night too. Yorkshire do at least have runs in them and that should ensure a contest where both sides go beyond 175 or make up a combination of 350 runs.
